West side carparks

What is the best route to get parked in one of these car parks? Our camper driver has handily decided to try the West Campervan field this year - despite the fact everyone else in the group will naturally be coming up the A303 from the East.

So to avoid having the walk the full length of the site on the Monday morning with our stuff to get back to our car we want to make sure we are parked in the Yellow Orange or Pink carparks on the West of the site.

Any advice?

tbh its all pot luck where you end up depending on when you arrive and many other factors... sorry I can't help there :/

In 2010 I arrived the day before my brothers party so his driver just asked to be directed to the gate nearest our camp and he was.

From what I can gather if you come in from the south on the a37 then you'll get sent to east and if you come from the north via m5 you'll get sent to the west, so the west ends up busier on the pedestrian gates.

Looking at the map I'd guess you'd want to take the left turn off the a302 onto the a372 then right onto the a361 at othery which takes you on the a39 bringing you in from the west?

Someone who's actually driven it on festival day should probably confirm this tho, I'm just an old local.

The a302 should of course read a303 sorry!

Bah. Some people just don't appreciate the subtle art of navigation any more.

Check a map, check out which roads are closed (info is available online), don't necessarily take any notice of the signs that tell you there are 'no access to glastonbury festival' and decent traffic less routes can be found.

Anytime I've come from the north I've aimed for the A37 once I've got to Bristol. Always ended in the east carparks by doing this, rather than continue down the M5/A39. It's shorter doing it this way too.

Of course this is no use to someone looking for the WEST carparks. Doh!
