I'd like to think the manics will play but at the minute they're not scheduled to play anywhere, not even rumoured for any festivals nevermind Kendal. It could happen but things seem very quiet from them.

I know they reissued generation terrorists late last year so Maybes they're thinking of doing one the increasingly popular touring with a famous album, like screamadelica or levelling the land etc

Ever the optimist ! I think if they were gonna play it would have been last year, they seem to have had a meteoric rise, that's not to say they won't appear in a few years time if they suffer a fall from grace. They've probably outgrown a lot of the smaller festivals without making appearances at them,

Just think Ramragon...you'll soon be looking at a little red face, screaming unintelligible gibberish, fists clenched, demanding a drink and covered in their own poo...

...but before you wander into the dance tent at Kendal, you've got a new babby to look forward to!

Has anyone ever predicted any of the headliners for any of the previous years?

Maybe the KC crew just sit and laugh at the suggestions....then go & book someone left-field....after all, who predicted Maximo Park last year or The Cribs/Blondie the year before?

    • Gojira are unoficially confirmed by the organisation at Hellfest since last December already.   Slayer was supposed to be this year as a Mainstage 2 headliner at the place of Volbeat for a thrash day but negotiations fell off. Very likely to be there next year.    MCR I didn't know about but it fits well with Hellfest's desire to keep one day as more punk/rock orientated.    Europe are a confirmed headliner for Sweden Rock 2027. They will not headline HF but we may seem them on the bill. I am very curious who will be the legacy bands next year at HF. There was some backlash after 2025 and a bit of a return to heavier metal on the bill in 2026 - e.g. Gatekeeper on the main stage. The only considerable legacy acts I see coming (if they are in Europe) and haven't been at HF for a while are Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Slash, FFDP (if you count them as legacy), ZZ Top, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I really hope they manage to pull sth big for the 20th anniversary like AC/DC.
    • Looking forward to Doja Cat letting us all know what is going on later on today. It is a good job that somebody is keeping us informed.
    • They've got a few gigs in Dec/Jan.  Hoping to pick up a couple of tickets for Margate later today
