I just love the Maccabees, i have beeen listening to " Born to the Wild " this morning , and absolutely brillaint album and they havn't played it at Glastonbury yet, surely they have to be there this year? I saw them at Alexander Palace last year and they blew me away .Has anyone heard of any rumours at all yet. I heard that Roland had said the last gig over the new year was the last gig to promote the album, but that does not rule out a festival.

The Maccabees are a band I first got to like as a result of seeing them at Glastonbury. I saw them for the first time on the Pyramid in 2009 and then again a year ago in a fairly small venue in Sheffield (The Leadmill) a couple of weeks after Born to the Wild came out, which was a superb gig. They would definitely be on my 'bands to see' list at Glastonbury again.

yeh i saw them in 2009 as well, they were on the Other not the Pyramid, the same day as White Lies and freindly fires, a great day that. It was the Friday if memory serves correct, my first Glasto ...... i may be wrong on the day, it was a bit of a blur ( no pun intended :) )

They're the kind of inoffensive, reasonably interesting indie-schmindie band that would have been a shoe-in for a decent spot on the Other stage if there had been a festival last year, I suspect they can be persueded to dust off the equipment in between tours and make an appearance.

*GIven To The Wild

their first two albums were kind of cutsey, inoffensive indie but their newer one was a bit darker and more epic sounding. i really enjoyed it. played it to death when it was first released. would go and see them pending on clashes. can definitely see them playing highish on Other - maybe 3rd or 4th

I like their first, I found the last to to be pretty dull but they're good live. Missed them last year at Reading have have seen them there twice before and they always turn out a good show.

i saw them at Leeds '10 whilst standing at the Main Stage all day waiting for Arcade Fire having not heard much of their stuff. i expected an absolute bore fest but it was the first time all day that the crowd went absolutely nuts. i remember when they played Can You Give It? the crowd shook from side to side during the chorus and i was getting thrown about. one of the few times a band has downright changed my opinion of them with a live show

Saw them in Bristol earlier last year and Glastonbury 2009, one of my favourite bands in the uk, would be fantastic to see them again in June, Wholly deserving of a headline spot on the Other.

They're one of my favourite bands, would love to see them.

One of my mates who is normally into heavier rock music and dislikes most indie bands saw them at Edinburgh's Hogmanay party this year. and he said he was shocked at how much he enjoyed the Maccabees.
