It is indeed a lottery and therefore it is an even playing field.

There are only, I believe, 135,000 tickets put up for sale to regular punters, with at least double that number of people trying, with each using multiple devices/windows, none of us has a better chance than the other and that is what makes it fair.

Deposit scheme means that everyone has a fair shot at it.

Have been lucky enough to get tickets this year, but if you haven't don't give up! In 2011 I got one in the second resale only a few weeks before the festival so it is possible to still get your hands on tickets if you missed out today.

What was confusing about todays system was that it wasn't clear once you had entered your registration number and post code you could keep hitting refresh again until you got through - rather than have to go back to the holding page and start from scratch. Once I'd worked that out it came up quite quickly

My suggestions are purely that...suggestions!

Long gone are the days of 97 when you could call up 2 weeks after the release date and buy a ticket. If only.

If it is fair and even, I don't see how so many people have varying experiences How come some people get through just like that? Others get through to putting in their bank details and get kicked out? Others get the holding screen? some people use fancy 'host' changes etc and get through? some people don't.

Whether its perceived as fair or not; its quite obvious that it doesn't work.

Fingers crossed for the resale.

Too many people wanting to go equals every year there will be disappointment. I did not get tickets on three occasions during the last 12 odd years.

I got lucky this time without backdoor hacking jobs or whatever. It is just the way it has to be otherwise there would not be a festival. It is really frustrating when you cannot get through at all though.

I've managed not to miss one in more than 20 years, but I'd have failed dismally this year and every year since 2008 if it wasn't for friends and some organisation. By making sure that we all work together, none of our group of 30 odd people has ever missed out. Personally, I havent seen a booking screen since 2008...

The site it pretty good if they are able to sell 120,000+ tickets in a hour and 40mins!

I dunno if the Host Change worked for me, did it send you through to the waiting page or to the reference number page? because i was having no luck before but then I only had to wait 5mins in the waiting page then i got stright through dose that mean the Host change thing actually worked for me?

Managed to get 40 odd tickets using the hosts trick. I suggest Neil changes his name to Freya!

A different hoop to be jumped through every year... they don't half like to keep things interesting do they?

I was lucky. Couldn't get one a few years ago then gave up on Glasto after that.

Yesterday I tried at my friends house, with really slow internet access, no luck even getting on to the page! Then another friend got one for me, after already getting some for herself earlier. They live really close to the broadband exchangey thing though.....
