See Tickets - moan

Evening all,

Just fancied a little moan here. I recently posted about getting the girlfriend tickets for the fest - I'd bought in pre-sale, and she now wants to come. I was debating the ebay route, but she's decided she'd rather pay a little more and get the guarantee - understandable I guess.

Was going to buy them, and suddenly thought I'd check where I got mine from - thought it'd be best to get them from same vendor (no idea why). Anyway, kind of glad I did. I remember I actually purchased tickets this year over the phone through See Tickets (I'd got a voucher for my birthday, decided it best to spend it on the fest). Have suddenly realised, received no confirmation email whatsoever. So I've checked their online order tracker - doesn't recognise the reference number (that luckily I'd jotted down from over the phone!) At this point I've got the "fuck, did I actually buy the tickets" thought going through my mind. Checked my bank statement - the money's been paid out on 5th September, so it looks like I did (albeit this reference number isn't recognised).

Tried calling the hotline I'd been told is 24/7 (which is, apparently, 8am-8pm these days...), so looks like I'll have to try again tomorrow. Heard other's bad experiences in the past - question is, d'yall think I'll have a problem on my hands tomorrow, or is it a simple cock-up there end?

P.s. - for anyone who says "shouldn't you have checked when you didn't get the confirmation initially"...probably, yes :P but I'd just started a new job - so understandably had other things to think about!

Tried that, brings up my previous orders made online but not this one over the phone. I think you may be right though - this is the only order I've done by phone however, so can't be sure.

Doesn't fill me with confidence in getting her a ticket through them though...

The money has come out of your account for something so I'd say you can go into tomorrow mornings conversation with seetickets feeling fairly optimistic...

I've not booked tickets with seetickets over the phone for years now but I don't remember getting any email confirmation from them when I used to do so - as I said, it has been literally years though.

If they still have them left I'd recommend Stargreen. Always been super-helpful when I've bought from them and they'll actually answer the phone promptly and call you back when they promise.

But the clincher for me is they have an actual office / shop in central London where you can go if you need to speak to someone in person. Not so handy if you're outside London, obviously, but it works for me.

Also (as far as I know) they're not part of the Live Nation / Ticketmaster monopoly!

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
    • Taxi mafia running their usual scam.
