Spiritualized

Only listened to it once, but saw them live a couple of weeks ago in Manchester. I have no doubt that it will be a blinding set at Bestival, and Jason Pierce's new stuff is up there with some of his best. Brilliant!

Well, I've been a Spiritualized fan since I was a teenager first hearing Ladies and Gentlemen, and despite loving J's excursions into pop music over the past few albums, Sweet Heart, Sweet Light is the first album in years that made feel the same things I felt whenever I first heard the album that made me fall in love with them to begin with. I too was at the Manchester show directly in front of J staring at the godliness of his snakeskin loafers, and some of the new songs they played were amazing but the live show itself... well, I don't think I've ever been to show with strobes that intense; and I know lighting, backdrops and all that are superficial but my God - I haven't taken drugs for years but going to a Spiritualized show, I don't really need to. Utterly hypnotised.

But yeah the album is superb, and at Bestival they'll definitely be one of the bands I absolutely 'must' see. I promised myself I wouldn't set myself a schedule or anything this year but I need to see this band again.

By the looks of it they will clash with stevie wonder

Its tough for me as i really like spiritualized, not as much as some on here do, but stevie is a legend and as has been said, i'm sure i'll get to watch spiritualized again but stevie wonder i'm not too sure.

I don&#39;t think they&#39;ll clash with Stevie Wonder, does he not usually schedule it so there&#39;s no ridiculous clashes?  And I imagine that clash would leave loads of people  torn..<br />

They're not that different. In fact I'd fully expect someone who liked Belle and Sebastian to like Flaming Lips.

There's no particular reason to be both a Stevie and a Spiritualized fan, except maybe that they're both good and of the slightly older generation.

fair enough maybe its because I'm only looking at how it would affect me,I'm a massive spiritualized fan and have probably only got a greatest hits of Stevies music lying around somewhere. For me its a difficult choice, i'd probably see Stevie Wonder as it's unlikely i'll get the chance but i'll be gutted i'm missing spiritualized. Either way I don't think they'll clash.
