Thanks for this thread people..

Looks like (after a perfectly odd combination of events) I'll be going on my own - coaching down from Nottingham....

Will check out the Bestival forum camping stuff - a bit worried about things but realise it's simply got to be done..

If anyone fancies a drink Thursday evening I'll pop a message on here for time & place. I usually have a few at camp then sample the arena, nowt on but the bar next to the Big Top was open last year, & then come back to the Wishing Tree Field for a knees up in Chai Wallahs.

If your bored at the camp site I recommend going to the comedy tent to kill some time. A few people on their own or using it as a meeting point & ended up staying.

Good idea for a meet up, why don't we pick a spot for the Thursday evening then?

Outside the entrance to the Wishing Tree would be a good spot, plus there is more open on the Thursday night this year too..

I'll be up for a pint or two if anyone is at a loose end or just fancies it (bring mates). I'll be wearing my leather jacket (as in profile pic) unless its scorching. Say hello if you see me bumbling around with the OH.

I expect I'll find a spot somewhere outside the Big Top later on to watch Hot Chip.

How was anyone's festival that went on your own?

I found just about everyone to be really friendly, even the younger attendees that I'd usually see at Reading, except one gentleman on ketamine during Rizzle Kicks on Sunday who kept jumping over people sat down & clouting them without any apologies.

    • We had one f**kwit one year come back at 4am and start playing music out loud and sitting under the tree talking. Thankfully his mate was in the tent trying to sleep too and came out and told him to f**k off. After one big argument he did indeed f**k off.   Otherwise I can actually sleep at GM without ear plugs compared to glasto. It's usually typically fine for sleeping at.

    • Yeah, she sold out BST twice and I think she'll return with even more interest.
    • To me MGK doesn't shift tickets, but could appeal to a younger demographic.    Don Broco/Architects/Jimmy Eat World/Turnstile - one or two of these would hit better.
    • I'm going, some friends and relatives will also be there on some days. I'm going on Sunday, then Tuesday to Saturday. I'm staying in the city From the headliners I'm most excited for Florence and twenty one pilots. Smaller acts I'm really looking forward to are: Tomora, Dijon, Wolf Alice and Sigrid
