Starting to think that sonisphere may end up being cancelled this year.

I love fnm and know they could fill a headline slot. And while they have one new song, hardly think you can call that new material.

I just find whole under exposed over booked discussion funny. An overbooked band (who sells tickets consistently) is considered a boring booking while an under booked act (having ridden out the initial reunion hype) is considered a good booking.

I don't think it's about good or bad bookings, but if you've been going to festivals for a few years or more, the bands that are over-exposed do get a bit boring, at least I feel that way, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

And one new song, is new material...how can you say new material isn't well, new material? And I doubt it's all they have or all they'll have by next Summer. As for the riding out the reunion hype, well that may be true, but they're still a massive and much loved act, especially amongst the rock crowd, and if anything the reunion probably opened them up to some whole new fans. So the fact that they've not done much gig-wise recently definitely doesn't make it a boring booking in any respects...

They've only played one new song. Not many bands play more than 1 or 2 unreleased songs. Assuming the album comes out this summer, which it's supposed to, I imagine they'd play a fair number off that, and round it out with a load of hits. No problem.

This whole conversation is speculative on the basis that FNM have been booked and are playing.

I heard they were going to discuss it after phase 1 of the reunion tour. But didn't hear anything beyond that.

Didn't FNM Play in the UK in 2010 at all? They headlined EXIT that year....missed the world cup final to watch them!

Didn't do any UK shows in 2010, no. Just the few shows in 2009 and Sonisphere in 2012

I have a feeling (which was the issue in 2010) Soni wanted exclusitivity and perhaps Download didn't and he was offered both Reading and Download instead of just Sonisphere? So it could be the bands in the leak are a tad out of date, but I think it's more likely to be bullshit. But saying Queen are no better than a second stage headliner at best is just stupid imo...it's QUEEN (albeit without Freddie which lessens their draw, but it's still Queen and without freddie they still sold out arenas and stadiums with ease)
