The British

I'd say about 80% of the posts I've read on here since coming back from Worthy Farm have been extremely negative. Why?? Because The British love a good moan, will you's do us all a favour and chill out and realise that you've just been to the best festival in the world.

The internet doesn't promote anything, the internet is just the medium in which the views are based upon. It's a pity that there's so much moaning about the festival in my opinion, instead of people moaning about chairs, flags, backpacks, walkways, queues, Radiohead, overcrowding, the dance village etc etc. People should be talking about the amazing time that they've just had but like I've said, The British do love a good moan.

And queueing...which in turn leads to moaning about the queueing

What sells news?.....Glastonbury was bloody brilliant or What a Mud Bath? Moaning is part of our make up whether we like it or not....and I agree (whether ironic or not)that the OPs post is indeed a moan of the highest order. Long live the moaning generation!!

I don't give a flying F**K if I'm moaning about people moaning,

I do give a flying F**K if people are moaning about Glastonbury.

The internet can not promote anything, it's a tool. To promote something you need to give publicity to something, to increase the popularity if you will, the internet doesn't do that. I do agree that there are internet warriors out there who make outrageous statements on the internet because they are behind a screen and not face to face with someone. A lot of the people out there wouldn't dream of saying some things to peoples faces that get said on the internet but behind a screen it's a completely different affair.

People can be very narcissistic in the civilised world. The fact is, we live in a society where everybody is born into the dillusion that they have a natural, universal right to be happy and when anything happens around them that interferes with that right, they moan because they think they're being deprived of something they're fundamentally entitled to.

It's the same with the NHS, the social security system, the taste of water, the price of food. If I wasn't such a nice person, I'd suggest taking it all away for ten years, then after everybody has spent a decade suffering and dying, bring it back, then we'd find out how bad it all really was.

I don't necessarily think that all moaning is created equal however, I don't consider it to be negative to moan about the state that Glasto was left in after us homosapiens went in there and quite frankly wrecked the bloody place and I don't consider it to be wrong to moan about people being selfish and inconsiderate of others, afterall, if the people that aren't don't keep on at the people that are, then the people that are will end up taking over the world... then we're all doomed.

I was truly touched by the whole Glasto experience, I really connected with it and it was quite an emotional ride for me, but I can't imagine a place outside of a warzone where such a stark contrast between the best and worst of humanity can be witnessed in such close proximity. I saw some things that where beautiful enough to choke me and then saw others that made me feel angry and violent.

The trouble is those with something to moan about are far more likely to say something rather than the contents and chilled outs, and the internet facilitates this very easily. Wouldnt say that 80% reflects fairly those who thoroughly enjoyed Glasto this and every year, it just reflects those who frankly ought to find something else to do in June every year.

.....and no I wouldnt say it is perfect, but the what is? That little roughness round the edges makes the festival for me and I know that when I leave the place on the Monday morning its with a huge smile on my face and safe in the knowledge that my life has been enhanced yet again for another year

Moaning and complaining is so not just a british/English "thing" and I cannot believe that anybody who says so has ever stepped off this island. Yes you do get higher levels of acceptance in certain cultures but this can lead to a difference in what they see is right or wrong. We will queue for hours with a certain level of complaining depending on the situation whereas other countries (not naming names) will say Im not sodding waiting and just push in....a much more direct action but still a means of showing disatisfaction. Im sorry but I prefer how it is done here.

....However how many times have most of us sat in a restaurant and suffered a crap meal only to tell the waiter how wonderful it is when he asks......in the good old USA they would tell it as it is and as such get the complaints out in the open. This would be better in some cases than just moaning afterwards having paid the bill and walked away.

So all in all we are all the same....but just do it a bit differently. As for Glastonbury the good still outways the bad and I will continue to go until the balance swaps.....and keep moaning just to try and ensure that this does not happen. :)

The British don't like queuing, it is just the fairest way to wait for something in order!

I don't for one minute think that Emily and Michael have read FF and implemented changes on the back of it, but some of the previous things people have moaned about have improved over the years. The toilets are much better and the coach station was radically improved after the debacle of 2007, for example.

If half the things said about English or British here were said about some other group of people, there would be screams of racism and bigotry. What a load of stereotyping bullshit.

    • Was volunteering at the Women’s Cricket World Cup at Southampton yesterday. Was great fun.
    • Definitely see this as being 'weak' on paper but could see a few bumps up from previous sets at Download (Don Broco, Neck Deep etc).
    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.
