Sheezus lawd o'mercy. So, so, so good.

The weather was perfect - the sun had come out but it wasn't overbearingly hot. The crowd must have tripled within 10 minutes. Souleyman had people eating out of his palm, all with a few 'heeeyyyyyyyyyyyyy's and little hand flicks. Everyone was dancing like there was no tomorrow.

I heard positive things about him and his live show but the set blew all expectations away. It's tight up against Janelle, Pulp, Caribou and Big Boi but I think he takes the prize as highlight of the whole weekend for me - and the calibre of music across the festival was top-notch I felt.

Pretty much agree with everything in the OP. Sudden emergence of the sun + Omar + Brothers taking effect made everything suddenly seem very otherworldly!

One of my highlights. Was munching on baclava all through the set and it took me right back to being in Damascus.

Met the man afterwards and got my CD signed.

Amazing gig! I spent most of my time in West Holts this year for the first time. Lovely field with Brothers and West Holts bars an added attraction. Best bands of the weekend played here in my opinion. Omar, Kool, Jimmy Cliff, Janelle, Dwayne, Big Boi. Top stuff! Respect to the stage booker
