For those of you who were upset by Lia Ices' withdrawal, here's a little consolation from last night's Low Anthem gig.

For the record, she was dead good - including a Floyd cover of next month's Mojo CD - and said she hoped she could play EOTR next year. The Low Anthem were, as expected, magnificent - have chucked a few videos of them up on GTG5573 as well.

I really want to like these guys but until very recently they were my 'worst band I've ever seen' and I've seen a lot of bands.

And yes, I'd like to see Other Lives promoted...top show last night at The Lexington, even better than I expected.

NOOOOOOOOO!

They were the first 'big' new find of the EOTR line-up for me this year. I even bought the latest record on vinyl sent over from the States! I dearly hope that's not true. Ugh.

Right, back to the clashfinder for the contingency that is Plan B (but by God, not Plan B, obviously...)

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Ben, I was hoping to get some of their records at Eotr as they are quite a price on import.

I tweeted at them to say I was looking forward to the seeing them at eotr and they sent me a dm saying that they won't be coming over due to financial reasons but hope to come and play London soon.

Hopefully a worthy replacement willbe announced but I doubt it as it's so late in the day.

The band have gone public (see below) no word from EOTR on this or anything at all recently come to think of it. (I know they're busy but there use of social media is poor, most companies/festivals have a two way dialogue between there fans!, sorry I'm going off topic with a blatant moan)

Looking on songkick perhaps they could book Blonde Redhead or Royal Bangs (who are supporting White Denim on their UK dates) as a replacement(s).

The pull out list is looking like this: (feel free to interject If I have missed any off)

La Sera

Lia Ices

The Love Language

Mountain Man

Hooded Fang

Cass McCombs

Perfume Genius

The Deadly Syndrome

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
