MY GOD! Melvin Benn is a f**king KNOB!

Anything he had to tackle he just dismisses straight away and just ABSOLUTELY bigs up the line up hes booked, people say Andy Copping is bad but god this guy is a million times worse, he's so smug sounding, won't take ANY negativity at all just shits on everyone else. Calls the bands playing Sonisphere SHITE even though he's booked and will book them again given them a chance.

Says they're shite then says its terrific in the next sentence, sounds like he wasn't ready for this interview at all, continues to go back on things he's said, Reading is diverse and EVERY other festival is narrow minded? f**k RIGHT OFF. What a complete prick

I had to laugh when he went on about the big four. "Where do you go next? The big five? The big three? The big two?" Does he actually know what the big four stands for?

As Ive posted on twitter and to Andy Copping and NME,

I notice NME aren't reporting that Benn has called Sonisphere SHITE, but were quick enough to report Copping saying Metallica would be a boring booking and was misquoted.

NME are just f**king cocksucking, sponsoring loving, poor journo w*nk!

Have they EVER reported anything negetive to do with Reading and Leeds?

To be fair to him, he backtracked a lot after calling it shite, he said that he would book any of those bands any year. Think he was a stupid saying it shite, but to focus on that word alone in the interview is something a tabloid newspaper would do, he said a lot of other things about those bands too

Sounds like a geriatric.

Completely out of touch. Says the fans are ultimately the judge on what they do and appears this year they are saying a big NO Melv.

Tickets already been on sale longer than any other year in the last 6 with the TWO presales and you can buy everything but Reading early tickets.

Says it is "appalling" to question MCR headlining??? The same band who aren't headlining elsewhere in the UK, and just came off a half full arena tour?? How the f**k is Reading and Leeds The Strokes natural home??

Also, the price increase isn't only about VAT because that would be less than a fiver increase and it has gone up £12.50. More bullshit.

Guy is so smug and full of shit it is untrue, this would have made a very funny spoof!

its only because copping hypes up his festival so much in the public domain is why he gets so slagged off if there is a poor booking... however MB comes out once a year says "exclusive headliners who are amazing" and then when the backlash hits from some people gets pissed off by it...

i just hope the rest of the line up when it is announced justifies the £200 on a ticket..

    • Guitarricadelafuente was bloody brilliant tonight. This is going to be a very Spanish focussed year for me. Rusowsky dragging out Las Ketchup on Saturday has the potential to be a Prima magic moment.
    • £112 for standard entry. No thank you.
    • Meanwhile Gracie Abrams is £92 for the cheapest with the average price around £160 for lower tier and £103 standing.   First time in a while I've gone from a definite yes to a definite no on price alone.   Amble was £31 this morning.
