Bloc Party

The hiatus has gone on faaaarrrr too long, Kele ended the speculation about a split a while back by announcing that a fourth album will come. What are the thoughts that they'll kickstart the reunion with a triumphant return to Reading? Maybe stealing MCR's controversial supposed headline spot?

i wouldn't say Bloc Party are smaller than MCR in terms of Reading and Leeds. I don't think anyone needs reminding of Bloc Party's history at Reading, when you add in the reunion, they get that notch up. Bloc Party have had more Top Ten Albums than MCR, they've had more singles in the Top Twenty. They're a much more deserving band for a headline spot.

No, you just don't like MCR and in your opinion think they would be better.

MCR have already headlined other UK fests, they have sold more albums, MCR had more "chart hit" albums more people know of MCR than Bloc Party, MCR are winning awards at the NME recently blah, blah, blah.

A reunion means shit look at Libertines & Darkness both back and not headlining fests.

Not at all, I defended MCR in another thread. I think they will deserve their headline spot, but not in comparison to Bloc Party who've had two great subbing spots in previous years as well as much more consistent critical and commerical acclaim

I prefer Bloc Party over MCR but I got bored of seeing them live and didn't like the new album.

This is all subjective with people not liking MCR as headliners they use the not big enough reason to why they aren't headlining when it can just as easily (more so in this case) be applied to band like Bloc Party.

Yeah, I'd consider The Strokes and The Killers reunion bands, just like Blink were a reunion act last year. Bloc Party especially because of all the speculation that they wouldn't get back together.
