Moving Tent after a day

Hi

I've a quick query regarding camping next to my mates campervan (is that one or two words).

Briefly, I have been to Glasto on a number of occasions and always camp on site but some friends are going for the first time and are going to get a Campervan. However, here lies my problem, they aren't turning up til the Thursday and I'll be rocking up on the Wednesday as per usual.

I wanted to know if it is possible to move my tent to by their van when they turn up on Thursday, it's my understanding that I'll have to park up in the car parks as normal on Wednesday then pitch up on site but is there anything stopping me moving my tent to their van on the Thursday?

I realise my car will stay where it is and it'll be a little bit of a ball-ache decamping but it'd be nice to be celebrating with me buddies. I'm not bothered about the physicalities of moving but I am concerned that I won't be allowed into the campervan field to pitch by their van. I looked on the official site and campervans can pitch a tent by their van but there isn't anything regarding my scenario.

Cheers in advance

Y Ci

I can't see any reason why not. We arrived in the CV fields on the Tuesday last year and some people with us didn't turn up with their tents till the Wednesday. You might want to be sure of the space your tent will take up so that your friends park in such a way as to leave the space for your tent alongside/behind their CV.

Thanks grumpyhack that pretty much answers my question, I was concerned that it wasn't allowed which would mean I'd be camping on my tod as I was originally going to give this year a miss until my mates decided that this would be the year they finally go. I'll just have my one-man tent so space shouldn't be a problem

Thanks again grumpyhack, muchos appreciatos :)

Ah this was a complication I was thinking about. Should I have to pay to camp in the campervan field. I say this cos I'll be hooking up with my friends then taking my tent up to whatever entry/exit gate then onto their campervan camp. If I have to pay I dont mind.

Just get them to ask the steward who parks them up to leave space for your tent. Also park & camp as close to whichever campervan field said friends are using so it's less of a trudge with your gear. Don't wanna park West if they are in East eh.

Kudos in it for you if when you head out of the festival past those entering you mutter loudly about 'shit festival, going home, never again' that sort of thing :)

....thereby using up valuable camping space that might otherwise have been used by other campers, those that can only arrive later...or those that don't have the choice.

nice. personally i think this should be discouraged
