Action Duchenne

If you were 40st and running for 3 miles was a challenge you were going to have to train for months for to achieve, I might be inclined to sponsor you. As that isn't the case (from memory the ocassional photos you've posted, dubai ones seem to ring a bell?, show you aren't 40st) I'm less likely to sponsor you. As well as that, Action Duchenne whilst no doubt a worthy charity, isn't one close to my heart - and therefore I choose to donate to other charities that are closer to my heart. Sorry.

In short, i always donate to causes that are important to me. I usually sponsor people who I know well, even if they're raising money for a charity i don't know particularly well. I sometimes sponsor people if the challenge they are undertaking is a difficult one (IMO) regardless of what charity they are raising funds for. I rarely sponsor people who are (virtual) strangers to me, aren't undertaking a particularly difficult challenge (IMO), and who are raising funds for a charity I'm not close to.

Once again, sorry.

Seems to me you know, have met, etc quite a number of posters on this forum - if your thread was appealing to them only then i'd guess they would know the above information. If you started your thread to also appeal to the many posters on this forum that don't know and haven't met you, I suggest the above information may help sway them to sponsor you.

I very definitely did not, and am not, suggesting the cause isn't a worthwhile one.

I didn't think people had to necessarily know about my medical condition, in order to sponsor me!!! I also have a bad shoulder after the car accident I was in almost two years ago, and a weak wrist after I cut through the tendon, I have a bad knee sometimes and my elbow also often locks up which is very painful. I get dry eyes at times and have to have drops for them and I often suffer with constipation. I think that just about covers everything, I hope this helps to sway some people into sponsoring me!

    • Interesting to read. It's mostly why we stopped going a few years back even though it's the nearest big festival to home. The post-exams timing and location makes it a rites of passage first festival for people in a big area. Understandably that leads to a bit of giddiness. Think lineup would need to be a lot more my cup of tea to be enticed back. Friends who are there are having a good time tho and no rain is a good thing for up there.
    • I honestly didn't know it had, I still thought it was where the view overlooked the lake and view.   I think my decision not to attend this year at least was justified. Biffy was the big draw but after Finsbury I knew they wouldn't play what I want to hear again and well work also got in the way. Believed interesting to hear if Libertines were any good as they were also a pull but Sunday did nothing for me really with all my acts on Friday and Saturday.
