Vieuphoria
For a proper 90's day you'd have to get a shovel and a ticket to Seattle if you wanted Alice In Chains. It's just not the same without Layne. It's a bit like Velvet Revolver, like, it's ok to like them because it's basically the entire line-up to Guns N Roses but it just doesn't deliver the beans without Axl. Dave The Hedgehog
Nah i agree. Although the new singer suits them and pulls it off well. It lacks something, something called Layne. I added them in there as an example. I would definatly see them if they were there but wouldnt go out of my way any other time. Kinnda like the new Sublime... mrtourette
I think it's a bit much to place so much credit for their sound on Staley, Jerry Cantrell has a very distinctive guitar and vocal style and a lot of their newer stuff can be easily identified a Alice In Chains. Anyways back on topic, I always felt the only thing that would distract Soundgarden from a co-/sub-headline spot at Reading would be the lure of a headline slot at Sonisphere or Download, and with 5/6 headliners announced for those two it looks like Soundgarden might be available for Reading. If it turns out that they don't play any festivals this year I'll be really disappointed in them.
Vieuphoria
I hope they play somewhere. Wherever it may be i'll get a day ticket for Will be very dissapointed if they don't play anywhere
rexclark
I'd quite like to see Soundgarden on the line up but purely for nostalgia reasons. I was really into grunge music as a teen but kind of grew out of it and hardly listen to it at all now. I'd definately go see Soundgarden though but to be honest I'd rather have Stone Temple Pilots. Dave The Hedgehog
And I would much rather see Soundgarden, personally I was never that big into Stone Temple Pilots?
mrtourette
Let's get this started again, Soundgarden have a live album out in March! http://www.soundgardenworld.com/news/2011-01-13/soundgarden-release-live-i5-march-
Leyser
f**k yes! Love your sig by the way. Still hoping for a new album, but I would be fine with an EP. I know Kim has talked about the possibilities (which I have mentioned several times before). Frankly, this is a step in the right direction whether it is a slot at Reading, or their own tour

Vieuphoria
I don't really see any link there. They are just 2 random days in March. Plus it's only a live album of old material. If it was the same day, or the day before id be with you. But i think this is a bit tenuous don't you think?
mrtourette
I'm guessing by the ninja face that he wasn't entirely serious. It may only be a live album but like he said any sign of activity is a hopeful sign.

Dave The Hedgehog
We are just staying optimistic on here. Watch this space at the end of March
Leyser
Nah your killing it! I know it's true, but I'm starting to think how amazing it would be to have them in the tent if it were ever possible. Now that will take some optimistic thinking... Dark Star
I can't see Soundgarden being at Reading/Leeds this year. Pearl Jam are hosting their own weekend festival to celebrate their 20th anniversary, and rumour has it that this will fall on the American Labor Day Weekend. This falls on the same weekend as Reading/Leeds. Matt Cameron may be awesome, but two places at once is not possible.

RichieParf
f**k you, Phil Collins did it at Live Aid, dude. If he can do it, so can Matt Cameron, dude... and this is 25 years later so technology has advanced somewhat. Dark Star
f**k Soundgarden, let's book Phil Collins Edit: Failing that, we'd need to get concorde out of retirenment to repeat what PC did at live aid with soundgarden, worth doing though obviously
Leyser
Labor day is the first Monday of September in the States?
