Bestival 2011

Not a reply to your question but I'm torn over this - I've got tickets for Pulp at Wireless but am considering going to see Prince at the Hop Farm instead. I'll be seriously miffed if I do switch and then find Prince is playing Bestival as well, especially if it's announced on 1 July, two days before this other date. But then if I don't switch and it's not him playing Bestival then it'll really be too late to do anything about it by the time we find out. Hmmm. At least if someone can prove the HF is definitely his only gig I can make an informed decision!

Odd Future! I had hoped they'd be there but I didn't think they would

Tom Vek is a genius too

Can't believe none of you lot are at least intrigued by that! OFWGKTA definitely aren't just some "Radio 1 pish"

Odd future just seem too hyped, I listened to them with a very keen open-mind and was disappointed.

I'm fearing the headliner, have a horrible feeling I'm not going to like it.

Dave - If you check out Odd Future (quite hard to do as there are at least 15 or so albums/mixtapes by their various members) I recommend start off with Tyler The Creator's self produced first album (he was 18 when he recorded it I think), and then his new one if you enjoy that

also give Earl Sweatshirt's album a listen, he's the youngest member but is immensely talented, he's currently missing in action though so won't be at Bestival.

All their releases are pretty good in some way, but those two are definitely where you should start off

It's not gonna be..

Sigur Ros, Orbital, Arcade Fire, Beastie Boys, Daft Punk, Soundgarden, Suede, Orbital, Sonic Youth, Spiritualized, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Lou Reed, Morrissey, Arctic Monkeys, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Strokes, Soulwax, Kate Bush, Morrissey, Adam Ant, Missy Elliott, David Bowie, Blondie, Moby, Radiohead, Streets, PULP or Friendly Fires.

No idea, no idea whatsoever.

Is he, along with Kanye, Jay-Z etc, really a diva, or even a rockstar though? I can't imagine many people turning up dressed up as any of them whereas somebody like Elton John, or Lady Gaga, I could. It just wouldn't match the theme the way Rob has hinted the headliner does.

To be honest, with the majority of white male talent on show I can't help but imagine it'll be a female headliner. Just a thought though.
