Not to me. In fact (and I may well be wrong) I'd say the floor space was definitely smaller at the O2 than Wembley. My guess is that the extra capacity is mainly down to the seating, which has an extra tier at the O2. I used to go to Wembley a lot (the Arena, although I've also seen quite a bit at the Stadium, which holds 80,000, hence me thinking you were being sarcastic), but recently have been to the O2 far more, both because of the acts playing there and the fact that it's much closer to me. I therefore got used to the size of that, and then when I returned to WA to see Arctic Monkeys in 2009 it felt enormous, like a massive warehouse. The O2 has always felt more intimate (as far as arenas go), and I seem to be able to get much closer to the front there, and even standing nearer the back I seem to feel much nearer the stage than I do even half way back at WA. It could well be down to clever design but I think the extra tier of seating is the main reason.

If I am remeber correctly (only been once to see the Cure) O2 is quite high but short, a bit like the MEN arena. Where as wembley arena (again only been once - to see the Cure!)is not high but long, a bit like the NEC arena. So at the O2 and MEN you can be at the back but still feel fairly close where as at Wembley and NEC the back is a long way back.

Good stuff. I've only seen them once, and that was just half an hour at the NME Awards at Brixton when they won the Godlike Genius award, so I'm looking forward to seeing them properly. Quick question - I know it probably varies but do they usually play Why Can't I Be You?

I would say they would probably play Why Can't I be You at Bestival. They've played it two out of the three times I've seen them I think. Plus, if they are doing a set towards singles, it will be included.

Cheers - I hope they do, it's one of my favourite tracks of all time (and my current ringtone). To be honest, as a 'casual' Cure fan, I'm hoping for a greatest hits set, I always forget how many great songs they've recorded.

    • So, what would the weather have been like at this year's festival?   It's been shambolic around here, the rain is soul destroying and showing no sign of letting up, bar odd sporadic days here and there. Disgraceful for June.   What's it like down there? Have we had a lucky escape?...

    • belated thanks for this ended up going, was a good evening and a great venue with a cracking beer selection (give the festival a few tips on that). Never been in before despite reasonably local.       Main takeaways from the film (as someone who didnt go for much later). The festival has changes a lot since then apart from the Green Fields that looked the exact same.  Me and my mate both agreed that Shambala is today than Glastonbury.   Cool piece of merch aswell.
