Nope that's being announced on July the 1st apparently.

"'Lastly but certainly not least you may have heard amidst the twitter-sphere, we have confirmed out third headliner and we’re bursting with excitement but we can’t tell you about that just yet. Combining the best elements of pop star, rock star and diva into one super-exciting show-stopper, it will be worth the wait. Promise! So stick 1st July in your diary and we’ll reveal all then!'"

I don't think so. If you have The Cure and Pendulum on, you can't follow that up with Grace Jones. She's mid-day graveyard filler at best (f**k knows what Wireless are thinking). Prince is playing his only UK show at Hop Farm so my money now is on David Bowie, but part of my brain thinks Lady Gaga too.

Grace Jones headlined Latitude when I was there two years ago. She's playing Wireless when I'm seeing Pulp. I will be seriously annoyed if she ends up headlining at my first Besti too! PLEASE let it be Prince (if Bowie's a no-no)!

You what?

Popstar - He has had some very popular tracks and can be classed as pop.

Rock star - I'm just going to pretend you haven't heard of Moby.

Diva - His live show can be diva-esque. Maybe not him personally as much but the other performers that play a big role. Maybe thats the only weak point of my argument but it can't be completely ruled out.

He's not big enough...? What planet are you from?

I've had a look but cant see anywhere that Prince's performance at Hopfarm billed as his only UK performance...please feel free to point me in right direction and correct me if wrong. Thanks

    • Maybe hopeful but get Knocked Loose on the Sunday opposite the legend. Similar to the slot Turnstile had in 2022. Would be absolutely phenomenal.
    • One of my personal favourite bands at the minute - MUNA. Was very surprised not to see them booked in 2023 with their last album but hopefully they'll be around next year. Very fun new album from these guys and, as aforementioned, another standout for me at Big Weekend.
    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
