I seen both at T.

Brings me back to the days of panini football stickers, opening a pack of 6 and theyre all doubles. Arrrgh.

Surely to god Paolo wont be given a headline slot although Razorlight did get one in 2008. Still, hasn't Rock Ness grown to a point where they can afford to stick acts like these atleast 1 or 2 spots down the bill.

Interesting to see that he is "TBC" though as i wasnt thinking they'd be putting out smaller acts with the headliners so early in the announcements. Still could be the same idea as 2009 when the announced late in 2008 with Prodigy-Biffy and Basement Jaxx-Dizzee Rascal.

Also Im assuming Kasabian will be on the Friday to give them enough time to recover for Isle of Wight even though Prodders did knock out a hat trick of festivals for us in 2009.

im hoping we have get Paolo in a subheadline spot like they did with Biffy and Dizzee in 2009

I personally like Kasabian. I'm just worried the festival becomes too much like T, especially having one headline who headlined the other so soon. I seem to remember them saying that they don't want RockNess to become another T in the Park but if they start having the same headliners so soon after the other it will no doubt happen. Also I think a lot of your typical T goer who can't get tickets for T next year will just go to RN due to similar lineups etc. I can see things from an organisers perspective wanting to sell out though.

I would rather RockNess kept it's uniqueness as in my opinion it ticks every box for a fest.

yuck.

i REALLY don't want kasabian to headline. rockness has always been different to T, by not following the current trends with acts and having more eclectic acts headlining like flaming lips and super furry animals. they've always managed to get the best dance acts around and the type of acts playing have set the tone for the whole festival. jim has always made a point of saying that rockness is not like T, so if kasabian headline, f**k knows what he's thinking.. we don't need two T in the park's in scotland, it was great when rockness came along to have another big festival in scotland as an alternative to T. if it turns into a mini T next year with shite bands and a crowd full of arseholes, it might have to be my last year. i love rockness and don't want to see it going to shit :(

    • Muse new album out soon , European tour announcement for Nov and Dec, no Spanish date and north American tour starts in July and in North America for all of July and August. So primavera and Glastonbury
    • Well he is on a rape charge, don't see that one as controversial.    Although Hakimi is in Morocco squad.
    • Electric Callboy just said they'll be touring here next year. I'm not sure there's a poster for it though. I'll look when I'm near some next.      He said we'll see you at Download at a gig before any of the band. Presumably he was trolling. They're in Austria at the moment and Germany tomorrow with a week's break and more shows in Germany. Whilst not impossible to come back here and then go over there again, it seems unlikely.
    • Thomas Partey, knocked back by Canadian immigration now.
    • I'm sure someone can update you on the clashfinder, and it will be pretty accurate by the time the festival comes around. It's a large flat-ish arena with main stage in the open air, no best side I'd say. Leadmill (3rd stage medium tent) is at the back of the main arena, T'Other (2nd stage big tent) 5 min walk round the corner. At full capacity walking around can take a bit more time though. I noticed that The Enemy are scheduled to not fully overlap with Wolf Alice, so you could catch part of their set too.   You can walk around anywhere with a beer, with most bars the usual mass market stuff, but one nice craft ale tent, back of the arena near the Leadmill stage. A main meal will set you back £10-15, but cheaper snacks also available. Expect a pint to be £7-8. Possibly a bit more this year as prices everywhere are increasing.   It's fairly easy to get to from the town centre using the tram, although can be busy at peak times / very busy at curfew. If you like a walk, it's approx 40 mins to Kelham Island (lots of indy venues) and probably an hour to the city, or catch an Uber. There will be loads of 'fringe' music events on around the city right through the weekend. Most are free. Have a wonderful trip, enjoy the festival, and your stay in our city!
