The first day is realistic. Second day not so. Social D, out of respect and their influence, would have to headline or at least play the main stage somewhere. Descendents would in no way be above them, especially as Social D have got a new album out. Same goes with Frank Turner. Would have to play main stage or high up the NME stage. Wouldn't settle for 4th one down the bill, since he is headlining a stage at Download I believe.

would descendents headline???

not sure as they sold out shep bush for two nights but they were the only dates in the uk.not sure how well they would do if it was a full 8 or 9 date acadamy size venue tour like usual lock up headliners.

i'll be front row centre anyway, great band.

Anyone looked at the Highfield line-up? The week before Reading, in Germany. Most of the bands are playing Reading too. One name stands out though... The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.

Mike Davies has been trying to book them for years, looks like he might have got them this year. YES!

Mike Davies hinted quite heavily that they'd be playing no? And I'd say May - end of August is quite a lot of notice for fans to see them.

Comeback Kid also self confirmed apparently. Thats a lot of possible bands for comparably few high up slots. Would like Hot Water Music and Comeback Kid most out of the Highfield/Self confirmed bands.

According to a punktastic user, descendents are playing reading and leeds

'Straight from Milos mouth. Reading and Leeds for sure and some other shows tagged on around it. Get excited !'

obviously not 100% reliable, but they have been heavily rumoured on the punk show. Awesome news

    • Aldous Harding absolutely brilliant in Dublin last night. Quirky as ever but sounded magnificent. Played everything off the new album I think, it all sounded fantastic. Band, including H Hawkline, were understated but excellent. Another one to look forward to.
    • Orbital opening the Other stage is a bold choice!
    • Great start for them
    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
