how much would that sort of thing cost? i was just thinking direct flights from the burgh. i'm only at the thinking out loud stage just now though.

*edit* actually if milan wins, then i'm definitely flying. no way i'm getting a train to southern europe.

i heard someone say that the san siro was just a big concrete something or other. take it's not the nicest place to go?

The Olympic stadium in Munich is the place where they had the '72 Olympics, as you say with the tenty roof.

Never been to any of the others, but I've been to Munich a couple of times (World Cup & non-World Cup), and its lovely, fun, historic, good for drinking, easy to get around...

Munich is fantastic, I highly recommend it. I've been to Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich - and Munich was by far the best. Lovely friendly locals, and the bier halls are huge! Definitely one of the best cities I've ever visited.

Amsterdam is okay, but I actually find it a bit too seedy - even by my standards!

Copenhagen is a nice place, but I was quite young when I went. Tivoli Gardens was good. Very expensive for drink mind.

The Allianz Arena is amazing, I was there for the Bayern v Aberdeen game. You get a train from the city centre and there is a station at the stadium. Well worth a visit. I'm not sure if it is only lit up when there are games on, but if it is lit up then well worth going up at nightime.

If you're wanting something sobering to do, then Dachau Concentration Camp is not far and is also accessible by train.

aye, ive seen the night time pics. looks something special! gig's july 29th so dunno if they'll have started their preseason. probably not.

saratink is going so i dunno if she will. but i've already been to aushwitz and don't really fancy doing another one. they're eye opening but obviously not the nicest places to visit.

    • Interesting to read. It's mostly why we stopped going a few years back even though it's the nearest big festival to home. The post-exams timing and location makes it a rites of passage first festival for people in a big area. Understandably that leads to a bit of giddiness. Think lineup would need to be a lot more my cup of tea to be enticed back. Friends who are there are having a good time tho and no rain is a good thing for up there.
    • I honestly didn't know it had, I still thought it was where the view overlooked the lake and view.   I think my decision not to attend this year at least was justified. Biffy was the big draw but after Finsbury I knew they wouldn't play what I want to hear again and well work also got in the way. Believed interesting to hear if Libertines were any good as they were also a pull but Sunday did nothing for me really with all my acts on Friday and Saturday.
