It has been interesting to hear the "tone" of the delegates at each of the conferences...

Newsnight has been talking to the delegates each night at the conferences... The Tory ones are scary... They are all f**king evil :)

The Labour and the Libs are far more warm :)

Anyone noticed this ?

It smacks of yesteryear when it was the landed gentry versus the working class.

Thats what we are are doing---no discussion--now piss off. There was no diplomacy on show there thats for sure.

In general, I dont think you get such abrasive qualities in Labour people.

I really think this tory government is worse that even thatcher and the british public to some extent are falling for it.

this is not "progressive" its not even back to basics, its back to the industrial revolution.

You're spot on - it's an even bigger robbery of the country than Thatcher managed by privatisation.

As for the public falling for it, it won't last too long. Most people are thinking that we're already suffering the tory cuts when they've not even started yet. They'll wise up when the true effects of what they've voted for hits home.

Unfortunately, there might not be much effect from them wising up - there has to be an alternative govt, but the LibDems have blown themselves apart for a generation and won't be trusted, and nice guy Ed will be considered by too many as too soft. So the morons will vote tory again. ;)

I think its fair to say that Labour lost the election..the Tories didnt win it.

Not like when Tonto swept into power... he did win it.

And I`ve got to say, they deserved to lose it..but the alternative isn`t exactly ideal from anybodies point of view either.

If Labour were to win the next election..i`d say its because this coalition will lose it.

The Tories would have little chance of winning outright.

It all spells for a generation of wishy-washy politics I suppose.

Its a very sweeping statement to say this lot are worse than Twatcher!

I suppose when these cuts do really bite...we might be saying that...but from my point of view... this lot will not rip the country apart as she did. The fights then were about power, Union struggles and imposing policies which divided communities.

Its not like that now...the decisions they are making now affect a much broader spectrum of society and are not decision based on principle and policy... they are mostly monetary (so far).

Interesting to see the issues of immigration and such like now seem to be back in the shadows.

To be honest they won't do a deal because she means nothing to the torys other than a photo op :)

As ever, you get to show that you don't have the first idea what you're talking about.

You know that promise by Dave Moron and slimy Gideon for a tax break for married couples? Well, currently they both know it's an empty promise that they can't deliver on.

The coalition agreement allows them to take the idea forwards, to try and implement it. But that agreement also allows for the LibDems to abstain from supporting it - so it's an idea without the support of the majority of MPs, and so an idea that'll fall on its arse.

So Dave Moron has to try and find support for it, as well as for other things that similarly won't have majority support from the coalition as a whole.

It's unlikely that he'll get support from the Greens for that tax break for married couples, but there's other things that he might do. Hence the sucking up to the Greens.

      Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.

      Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
