Ok let's take it that you cant but more than 8 tickets per session. That means that one person gets on and seven people have a ticket without making any effort whatsoever - how is that fair on me who only wants one ticket that seven people have a ticket and I dont when they have made no effort? Or the more likely scenario that 8 people in a group all want a ticket and all 8 are trying to get on the system to buy those tickets. Only one of those people needs to hit and all 8 have tickets - which means that each individual ticket holder has 8 times more chance of getting a ticket than me who wants one. How is that any fairer on me than the current system?

What is happening here is people are mistaking 'make it fairer' with 'make it fairer for me' :)

point I'm making is that if that is the way that it was going to be done I would plan around it -

*family to feed - yep - (5 kids and partner + 2 dogs) - would take my phone/laptop with me into the kitchen

*job to go to - yep, have that too - would book that week off

I'm *that* committed to getting there....enough to take 7 days out of 365 if I had to. The point being those who really werent that bothered either way would try on the first day - if no success wouldn't really be too fussed, but those who really really want to be there would a)sit there until they got them and b)have 7 chances rather than 1

Dear llcoolphil, you simply don't get it nor do you seem to grasp the concept of fairness. Your fallback is that no system is 100% fair which you seem to think means that it doesn't matter how unfair any system is. I can't see your comprehension ability improving no matter how much we discuss this.

1000 people buying 137 tickets each would be fair in your book - despite the fact that it locks everyone else out of the site and therefore gives them no chance.

500 people buying 274 tickets each would achieve the same.

2000 people buying on average 68.5 tickets each would do the same.

etc.

Yes, every ticket would go to someone who is registered, but unless you were part of one of those limited numbers of cliques you would have zero chance of buying a ticket.

That is a hypothetical situation, as I happened to mention, that is based on the purchasing patterns of many people already. At what point would you see that having certain punters decide who is and who is not worthy of a Glastonbury ticket unnecessarily unfair? When a quarter of the tickets have been sold that way? When it gets to half of them? Or would it only become unfair when every single ticket ended up being sold via cliques?

I'm amazed that I managed to get two tickets by myself at all.

Maybe it was the turn of those who missed out this time. I've missed out before. A bit selfish isn't it to get to go every year. How many have others missed out on in the past because they couldn't get tickets?

But its still not a fair system. More beneficial to you perhaps - but certainly alot less fair than the current system is because it then becomes nothing more than a pissing contest dependant on who can afford a week off work blah blah blah.. Yep, a Glastonbury based on who can afford to be there the most! You can have my ticket if that ever happens!

I couldn't *afford* to do it....no way could I afford it....but I would if I had to. I just think that having 7 chances at getting a ticket would give everyone better odds than one mad scrum....thats my point

Its all a bit shitty init!

I still think that ticket day should be in April and that you should have to purchase the ticket at full price. I don't see an advantage of the deposit scheme when come April you have to pay £150 of the £200. If you know ticket day is coming you make sure you have the money ready.

This deposit lark has allocations taken up by a fair amount of people who might go. If it turns out they can't/don't want to go they lose £10! No great loss for keeping your options open.

Full price! Only those dedicated to go will go. Simple!
