a bit of innuendo and filth is alright for a laugh, but it went too far with people talking in detail about anal and implying things they'd been getting up to together.

i think ben is right that the thread should only be started a few weeks before glasto next year. it stops it from becoming too cliquey and you might get more people at a singles meet because people won't feel like they're turning up to meet a group of people who already know each other.

i'm guessing that was after then? i think i tried to avoid it afterwards so not sure what went on sometimes.

it was good though for the small group of people that took part in it. some spent the whole festival and even camped with each other.

but next time it does need to be just a thread to declare interest, say a little about yourself then leave it for everyone else to do the same. i'd say no sooner than a fortnight.

although some in that thread do seem like really nice people (sara, lolbeck), the main posters were all responsible for creating a clique. i think if someone only looked at that thread a few days before glasto, they could feel a bit uncomfortable and shy about turning up to a meet where it seems like everyone already knows each other.
