Good to know, but looking at the potential clashes is quite depressing :( I'm hoping they stagger them a little bit more than last year!

Would bumping the Thursday line up to the Big Top at least make much of a difference for the performers? I imagine chaos and disappointment otherwise - or could they just go before Mark & Isobel on presumably the main stage?

6 bands a stage does seem a tad light - last year on the main stage I think it was 7/8/7, but certainly bands get to play more than just the hits as it were, and if memory serves there tends to be something going on from around middayish. There tends to be comfortable gaps between the bands, certainly on the two largest (it's all relative) stages, and as it's so easy to get around the site there's plenty of opportunity to try different things, and if the clash gods behave, see more bands than the line-up suggests

as a newbie, the lineup looks great for me. some hefty clashes, but thats one of the things that makes you realise how good a lineup is. thanks to shoebox (?) above for the outline clashfiner, that was very helpful.

someone mentioned that both main stage and tent capacity were each around 3,000. does that mean its pretty easy to get to see what you want?

(i hate keeping saying it for comparison, but for perhaps 3rd upwards from the top of the bill at latitude you have to know your way around to get decent visibility particularly on the 2nd stage).

Getting about the two main areas is simple, and both have plenty of decent viewing/meeting points. They're close enough to wander between but without hearing what's going on at the other stage. The smaller stages tend to be a bit crowded for the more popular sets, but nothing to really panic about if you don't mind getting in a tad in advance. The comedy venue is a tad chaotic, if only as running orders tend to be a bit more relaxed...

Henry41 is on the money.

Stages are fine 9 times out of 10.

Had a bit of a problem last year at Fleet Foxes: was trying to get into the Garden Stage just before their set, but it was basically full and security was doing one-in, one-out (or at least delaying entry, I can't quite remember). I got in eventually and only missed 1 or 2 songs though.

That's the only time I had that problem.

But if you desperately want to see band X, it might be a good idea to get there a bit early.

thanks guys.

for "first festival" in the past i have tried to keep my must see schedule low key, and have the same intention for eotr. one or two key bands and then just go with the flow.

i particularly like the sound of the cider bus and need to allow for the chance that it becomes a major, regular, diversion. at which point i care slighty less about who i see.

The Fleet Foxes set last year was very full, and yes, I heard about the one-out, one-in thing. Wonder if the crowd was heightened because of The Horrors pulling out last minute though? Dunno, possibly.

Anyway, yeah, I can echo the fact that you will be able to see pretty much whoever you want on the two main stages. The whole festival's only got a capacity of about 5000 (I think!).
