did anyone catch them after all the hype on this messageboard beforehand?

I love them, and loved the set, BUT they played almost all new stuff. For me it was sensational to hear the new stuff but anyone who researched them by listening to their past albums might have been a bit disappointed. It would have been nice for them to finish with one or two of their older songs but they had a criminally short set so I dont blame them for playing the songs they did.

I think their new album will be pretty huge.

Anyone else got any thoughts?

I'm here matey. More to the point - where the f**k were you?! I had a pint of ale with your name on it all weekend!!

Kloot were right up there with the best acts I saw. But they suprised me by playing such a brave set.

Their new stuff completely blew me away - it was amazing. I knew Northern Skies, To The Brink, Lately, Fingerprints but the closing track was my favourite. The extra musicians made a huge difference to the sound, and it really suited them IMHO.

But another major plus for me - the crowd. Considering they mostly played their new stuff, I thought the respect they got was quite remarkable - you could hear a pin drop during quieter songs, which I think justified their decision to use that playlist. But I saw them in Manchester in 2008 and you could hear constant chatter when he played No Fear Of Falling - that's supposed to be their HOME crowd.

Yet at a festival in a tent like the Queen's Head, the respect shown to them was surprising and VERY welcome indeed.

I guess it also showed that they liked what they heard.

On what I heard, I am now VERY optimistic that this album will give them a bit more recognition, that would be very well deserved.

It was a beautiful start to a beautiful end of the festival. I Am Kloot followed by Faithless and Stevie Wonder.

I'd heard some of the new Kloot stuff before at some of Johnny's solo gigs but I liked the band arrangements.

The last track they played did have Guy Garvey's fingerprints all over it - not a bad thing.

I loved their set, the new tunes sound great live, would have liked to have heard a few more of the old ones but they didn't really hava a lot of time.

Oh and the new album is tops the way

I saw them and thought it was good to hear the new tracks, shame it was such a short set. I have heard they are to be shown on BBC 2 tomorrow night as part of the highlights of glastonbury.

i thought they were brilliant if a little puzzling by their set choice. I honestly came out a little confused how such a seemingly sloshed bloke could play such a tight set. I've mentioned in another topic that it would have been perfect if they'd closed with proof or because.

A brave move to play so much new stuff, and as mentioned above Guy Garveys influence could definately be seen. I was right against the barrier at the front an got some pretty good pics of the set as well. Gotta say though i never noticed anyone filming the set though.

I completely agree. I had a wonderful Sunday , Ellen and the Escapades, then the Villagers, I am Kloot, Faithless and the Stevie.

I thought the set was brilliant. I went with my Brother his friend and an old mate of mine, none of who had heard much and all of whom were well impressed. My old mate was so impressed he now wants he to take him along to bands that i recommend! I wish that they has finished with Proof, but you can't have everything i supposed. Perhaps i should have asked Mr Bramwell to finish with that when i bumped into him on Saturday night.I was a bit pissed though!

We are going to get tickets to the Greenwich festival where they are going to support Athlete, hopeful of a longer set.

I thought they were good but as you said was all new songs and I only got into them a few weeks back so left slightly dissapointed, Not dissapointed performance wise just I would have liked some of the older songs that I know, Can't please everyone though. Been listening to the new album since I got back from Glasto and it's sounding very good.
