Broke my foot 8 weeks ago - still in pain and limping about (muscle and ligament damage) - hoping for nice weather as don't think I could walk too far in mud.

now feel like am coming down with the cold. youngest daughter had really high fever and sickness till tuesday so hoping that no-one else gets it before or during the event.

I had a similar thing about 6 years ago, but I went to hospital. They checked my heart and stuff and eventually suspected severe indigestion. After loads of test in the following weeks and a camera down my throat I have gastric reflux which is where acid comes back up your throat causing irritation. This with the anxiety of thinking i was having a heart attack made me feel very unwell. All fine now.

I suppose what I am saying is get to the doctors, hospital, walk in centre now and get them to check. I am sure all will be fine but it will put your mind at rest and allow you to enjoy glasto to the full without worrying about things.

Hope you feel better soon.

BUT...WE ALL KNOW WHAT THE BEST MEDICINE FOR EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US IS?...

BURROWHILL HOT & SPICY

I cant wait for that awesome yearly tonic to slip down my throat and make me feel all right inside (as well as in my head) again...well until 2 pints have been consumed and you see me running to the nearest longdrops as the hot battery acid properly kicks in :lol:

Still...hope to see you all before the self induced IBS kicks in and we can raise a glass to each other in celebration of the factthat we DID make it to the G despite the broken state we are all in.

Aint going to be anything LIKE the broken state we all be in by the 28th! :O

And as for being BROKE before the festival...

I am winging this on a shoestring. Have bought my Burrowhill for half the price from my local Cider Centre.

Glastonbudget may have been a couple of weekends ago but I am living it next week!

I am just recovering from a neck and shoulder strain and concerned about making it worse!!

The nature of my job causes me all sorts of strains and does not help if I am in pain.... That is why I have 2 weeks off after G.

Lucy wishes to you to feel better for next week....

Iamchappu I send you my sympathies to you and yours for your loss, you should plan to go to G if you can... there is something to be said about celebrating the life of a loved one who is taken from us, and Glastonbury is a magical place to feel emotions and remember people, you may just find peace and reason for your loss... x o

Rhyseig I think you should go to a walk in centre if you cannot get your GP, they may give you something to ease the chest pain and your mind will be at rest for next week...

Hope everyone in this thread the best and have a pain free Glasto....

Having spent a month off work recently with a bad case of sciatica all was going well - until this afternoon when its starting twinging again. Needless to say, the heat pack is out, the anti-inflammatories have been taken, and I shall take a couple of diazapam before bed to act as a muscle relaxant and hope for the best!! Luckily (!?!?) when it kicks off I can either stand or lie - its sitting thats the problem so even if it really flares up and I have to give up the idea of driving down, I WILL be there - even if I have to stand all the way down on a train!!!

We are like a bunch of old knackers!! :P

Had Norovirus last Saturday, died Sunday with Dr out to jab me with various things, issued antibiotics because of chest infection at the same time as well....

So Monday, bad, Tuesday bad, Wednesday worse, Thursday better, yesterday storming.. today, bad :(

However I am an optimist.

I have not had a drink for a week, I have lost a lot of weight and I am f**king going even if I stay in my tent for 5 days.

I have a small medicine cabinet to take with me and I am confident it will all calm down come tomorrow again.

However I am in hospital on Monday for a small procedure and once that's completed and I am out again..

Watch out Glastonbury, Sick boy is on his way!

Anyway, to all of you ill, Get well soon, drink plenty and get lots of sleep!

A month ago I (drunkenly) went arse over tit on an escalator (twice... didn't realise how badly I'd damaged my ankle and tried to stand up on it immediately afterwards) and since then I can't really walk very much at all. Which is a pain, walking is my exercise - I walk at least 6 miles everyday and I enjoy it greatly - a couple of days ago I thought i'd test the waters and went for a 5k stomp... back in the tubey bandage bastard!

To add insult to injury, my lovely nan died last week and of the 365 days we have in each and every year, her funeral happens to be this coming wednesday - at about the time when I was expecting to be drunk in my favourite place. Losing my Glasto weds also means losing my ride so somehow, broken ankle and all, I need to suffer the disgustingly hideous service known as the castle cary shuttle bus. in 2008 I waited three hours for this - last year my housemate waited 5. I suspect alcohol may be the cure for all of these issues!

thankfully i feel much better today (well so far so good anyway) i didnt go and see a doctor, plain and simply because after my dinner and a couple of mouthfulls of gaviscon i was feeling 100%, so i think whoever said the stomach acid coming back up my chest, i think you were bang on the money, still didnt stop me from being frightened of missing glasto though.

but later on it ruturned after dinner, but i realised after about half a bottle of gaviscon (my mum says it never works anyway) it wasent going away, so then i ate something and it was gone! i then checked up what this could be on the internet which led me to stomach ulcers, at this point i was petrified when it says the pain will be around for a while yet and treatment can take 4 weeks! but im feeling good today so i think that gives me the all clear from stomach ulcers... the internet is a massive help for hypochondriacs, to bad it doesent help in the right way :P

WAYHEY BRING ON GLASTO

i hope i havent spoke to soon and the pain returns which would mean stomach ulcers, but i think it was gastric reflux (i think thats what the person who replied said?) just hoping for a nice couple of pain free, healthy days, before i set off for glastonbury and come back broken with liver damage.

gotta add though, that was f'ing scary, never felt pain like it in my life, honestly thought there was something majorly wrong with me (i had a moment where i was thinking lung cancer LOL)

cheers everyone :)

A couple months ago I got kidney stones, and I keep getting twinges of pain from my left kidney. My biggest fear right now is that it might come back in these next few days rendering me pretty much unable to walk letalone go to Glasto :S
