Must say Mourinho has done really well with Madrid so far. They've only dropped four points so far and look a lot sounder at the back from last season. Look better than Barce at the moment with el Classico coming up this month. Long way to go yet like.

Not sure if your post was in response to mine, or not.

But in case it was, I wasn't saying he wouldn't get the job for any reason but his character - it just simply doesn't fit for what Utd says (or likes to believe) they're about.

I guess he could end up with job, but if he did then I reckon it'd be a statement of Utd's precarious financial position, and will only ultimately result in a far bigger fall for Utd.

As for his record, it's been good so far - but history gets to show that it's hugely unlikely he'll always be that success. So along with what I've said above, there's that danger too for Utd if they gave him the job - and Utd are a club that have no leeway for any wrong decision.

I don't think United have too much to worry about in terms of foreign investment. The deals announced recently are all from overseas and directed to "emerging" markets. These won't dry up because a couple of thousand seats aren't sold at some games.

I did make a point of saying stuff that's being targeted at overseas markets is far less likely to be affected.

For the UK market, the view will now be that Utd is around half as popular as it was. That's likely to mount up into a sizeable sum over all deals aimed at the UK market, even after the competition to be associated with Utd is taken into account.

The season tickets at utd were in the past very hard to get hold of and there was indeed a sort of waitng list, it's ever since they introduced the automatic cup ticket scheme ( if you have a season ticket you automatically have to buy every home cup game) that they became available

People, including myself, just can't afford too pay £600 -£900 for a season ticket and then say another 7-10 cup tickets on top of that at £30 -£50 each :O

I don't think the Italians know how to defend against that kind of player. “Great” wide players in Serie A do well. Theres been loads that wouldn’t cut the mustard in the prem. I remember Stefano Eranio being great for Milan for a couple of seasons playing the wide running and crossing game. He wasn’t a patch on some of the prem wingers at the time.

My take on bale, admitedly as a bias welshman! In terms of his consistency, I think some people are being a little unfair. I would say towards the end of last season/beginning of this season his consistency is up there with the best in the premiership. People can alwaus point to games where rafael/neville had them in their pockets. However if you look at all the top players you can find similar games. I think bale is on track to become one of the best players in his position in world football, the scary thing is he is only 21. If you look at attacking british players he is already ahead of gerrard, lampard, joe cole, beckham at the same age. The only people that I can think of better than bale at 21 are giggs and possibly rooney. Another thing, note to the media its extremely annoying when they say its a pity he isnt english. I think its a pity messi, xavi, iniesta, villa and ronaldo arent welsh but not sure it merits much discussion!

Anelka was phenomenal last night, Iva was superb as well - going to interesting what we do in defence now with Bosingwa back  few rumours again that we might get Srna in January onloan till the end of the season then sign him :)

Kakuta looked alright when he came on as well - seems to enjoy too many tricks at the moment though and does seem a bit lightweight, but looks like he's going to be handy, really good for Sturridge towards the end that he should have burried.

    • So we've signed a Horny Czech, and Bruno's turned up the training camp instead of doing Isak's nonsense.   Still not sure I believe Bruno's staying mind, but glad he's not doing the sh*t Arsenal are asking him to do to lower the price. If they want him they can stump up.   My suspicion is that whichever of Madrid/Man City don't start next season with Rodri will go for Bruno, and one of them will come in while Arsenal have f**ked about trying to get him cheap, which while I absolutely want to keep him, would still be good enough bants and a nice middle finger that I wouldn't mind it so much. I just wish we'd report Arsenal for tapping up.   If rumours are to be believed, we're after 2 more defensive signings, and an attacking player, on top of a replacement if Bruno leaves, having already signed a LW, 2 CMs, a GK, and some youth players. Huge churn, but apart from a couple of Bazou Toure's games for Ivory Coast at the world cup, I've not seen any of them play. Over 2 summers we've basically changed our entire team aside from the CBs.
    • I think the level of headliners Bloodstock get is varied    There's been bands who have gone on to play Download in quite a low spot like Meshuggah, Behemoth, Opeth etc.    Then they've had years like 2025 where you can argue that all three headliners are download main stage sub level    Knocked Loose right now i'd argue are 3rd down on main/opus headliner level while EC and FFDP are borderline main stage sub
