And somebody has so I can't see it but from what people have described on here it was just some poor girl that couldn't go and wanted to sell the ticket to someone that could.

What kind of total asshat would report her to Ebay?

As I said before, I disagree with this. Bands do not pay more cheaply because of the ticket price.

I partly agree - but it's well known that ME has a pricing structure and bands are willing to work within that, which in turn keeps ticket prices down.

No, but there are problems with the current system.

A ) You can't get a refund after a certain date, that's what's causing so many people to have to try selling them. I know 1 person that can't go because she's been off ill for the last few weeks and another that may not be able to come now because of work. Do you think ME likes people having to pay £185 for a ticket and then staying at home?

A ) as has been stated by numerous people here, they wouldnt have a problem with a genuine seller unable to go for whatever reason if it was priced so as to re-coup the money they spent. it may well be breaching the letter of the agreement, but not the spirit of the agreement. you bought the ticket from GFL for £185 (plus costs) because thats what GFL want to sell at. why not honour the spirit of that agreement and sell on for your costs?

I'm sympathetic towards these people, but I do actually take a tougher stance on them. Because they're undermining everyone's faith in the photo-ID system, and hence opening up the market for professional touts in future.

Although it will by a real pain in the arse for some people, I think the best thing to protect the future of the festival is for the gate staff to be really strict thorough this year. People will have wasted journeys. People will have lost money. But they knew the risks, or should have done. As long as word gets around that most people who chanced it got turned away, this touting problem will solve itself.

Although it will by a real pain in the arse for some basically decent people, I think the best thing to protect the future of the festival is for the gate staff to be really strict thorough this year. People will have wasted journeys. People will have lost money. But they knew the risks, or should have done. As long as word gets around that most people who chanced it got turned away, this touting problem will solve itself.

The use of language can be important. With that in mind,if people who sell on tickets are sub human scum what are people who abuse kids or torture animals?Do you need another set of insults?

Poppy cock

The value of the tickets are the face value of the tickets as set by the producer. There is no recommended retail value on these, they are not for resale.

What people are willing to pay to get a ticket is a distortion of the real value. The same as with any product that is wanted and in short supply. Iphones, Ipads, Wii, Xbox....

In this case the demand out strip the supply. If everybody who went to the festival bought a ticket from the site and there were no touts the value would be 185 pounds....

The point of touts is to reduce the amount available, wait until supply has out stripped demand and then supply the ones who can afford to pay at the highest price. Its leaching of the very worst kind.

There is no honour in what they are doing they are praying on peoples desires to achieve something and profiteering off the back of it with no control or recourse.

So you believe something about me that is incorrect. I point out that not only is it incorrect but I actually have proof of my actions. Instead of a simple retraction and apology for besmirching me with your values you continue to claim I am misinformed about my principles, what I do and what I have done?

In that case, no not you're not spineless. You are an idiot of the highest order of idiots.

It gets funnier with repetition. You know, like the catchphrases in The Fast Show. It started off pretty unfunny, peaked in around 2005, and has been on a bit of a slide since then. I reckon it's going to rally and start getting funnier again any time now.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
