See, the numbers are increasing on ebay by the minute it appears, as ticket holders realise the money that can be earned, the balance will tip slowly and 500 quid will seem a much better option that attending, especially if the weather forecast remains inclement. Don't want to go down the middle class argument route, but I for one want to be at the festival where EVERYONE has paid what ME has stipulated we should pay and has worked so hard to make it so, it's his festival so why shouldn't he be able to expect it to be this way?

We're so lucky that the organisers of Glastonbury take the view they do and aren't the same as the likes of Festival Republic who completely take the piss out of their customers by using Viagogo to legally tout, and yet there are people on here that don't see that or appreciate it, instead they're championing folk that are sticking two fingers up to Eavis.

Then as the numbers of tickets on ebay increases, the idea will form that actually touting Glasto tickets can work, next year how about setting up teams of different but fairly 'generic looking' individuals to purchase tickets, give them a commission for registering, hey presto, the touting business is alive and well at Worthy Farm!

But the odd one here and there is ok isn't it.....thin end of the wedge

i have never bought or sold a ticket on for more than face. i'd rather not go than do something i find morally reprehensible and have sold below face for the sake of shifting the ticket to a real fan.

Shame ebay can't have rules that anyone wanting to sell tickets (what ever festival, concert they are for) at face value only, with no auction options, then no one will gain and touts won't bother buying tickets in the first place.

I can't imagine selling my ticket, not for £1 or £1000 - 2 weeks to go and I can't wait :D

If Glastonbury was a run for profit festival like so many others then I have no problems with anybody making a few quid.

But it's all about being for charity isn't it? and that in my mind makes it wrong to tout!

For the last two years we have bought tickets off ebay and both times have got them for face value on a buy it now. We wouldn't pay more and feel that we have bought them of genuine peeps who for their own reasons discovered that they could not attend and were to late to sort out refunds.

We wouldn't pay over face value for them cuz we don't agree with touts.

How impressed would you be if next time you went to a supermarket someone had got there just before you and purchased everything you wanted then sat in the carpark and offered it to you for twice the price?? I reckon you might be a tad miffed...

A few years ago my husband sold his Wimbledon final tickets on ebay for face value. Wimbledon police Ebay and took a pretty dim view of what was actually what we thought was innocent. Oh no. Tickets were canceled. We had a long letter from Wimbledon bollocking us for our behavoiur and it was unlikely that we would be eligible to get tickets again. Lesson learned - we didn't set out to make money - just get rid of tickets we couldn't use!

I'd like to see Glasters take this action on those whose tickets are on EBAY. Cancel registration and make it damned difficult to register again. I hope they are vigilant in cancelling tickets - unfortunately this will only be possible with scanning equipment etc at the gate.

Touts are bad.

One just went for £295 on ebay a second ago, there are quite a few on there.

I seen one yesterday that sort of resembled my mate, if you stuck a finger in one eye and squinted with the other eye it was a dead ringer, I offered the guy face value and told him I'd pay immediatley, he told me to go away and leave him alone, well he didnt exactly put it like that... eeek
