Is this the trolley for me?!

Make sure you have it all strapped down. The amount of free beer found on the path from the gate to the campsites is quite amusing. If its not for the uneven pathways (it is a field) causing the trolley to bounce around causing the crates to slide from side to side. Often the cardboard will give and out pops the cans of beer.

If you want a trolley go for a trolley cart like this http://www.foxtrap.co.uk/ourshop/prod_4670...-pound1499.html

It costs a bit more but its certainly the one I'd get.

I carried 25 kilos of booze last year. A tent weighs 5-7 kilos. I wear my boots, and have only light footwear otherwise. Other than that, it's less than 10 kilos of clothes, at a guess. So yeah, carrying 40 kilos one way, and 15 kilos out is the norm. I don't think that makes me particularly strong, but then I'm not anorexic like most young men these days.

That's the sack truck I've got....good little number. But MAKE SURE THE TYRES ARE PROPERLY INFLATED BEFORE YOU START! (i really can't stress that enough) Otherwise the pressure of the load can cause the axle to wear out the bearing of the wheel (they are v cheap bearing) causing catastrophic failure. That happened to me in 2008, but I replaced the wheel bearing and last year it was fine.

I rescued one of these from the car park in 2007 and its been fine, very sturdy and perfect for the job, just need to make sure the tyres are properly inflated and the 4 bolts that hold each wheel together are tight (they tend to work their way loose eventually) always give mine a spray with wd40 as well (wheel bearings) makes it a bit easier to push. Anyone that thinks it's better to carry all their gear is either superman or a masochist.

DON'T

buy that one. it will self destruct.

oddly i am a professional sack truck user (all terrain). The best ones are like te B£Q ones but the top of the handles join together in a loop and there is a vertical extra bit down the middle. these are super strong and, crucially, unlike the B$Q ones can be dragged backwards with one hand.Backwards is the only way when off road.
