Nil nil good enough. 4 4 2 will be good enough to get us out the group and when we switch formations at the knockout stages, nobody else has seen us play it. Quite frankly, I cant imagine how we aren't going to win the entire thing.

I can't think of one player who wasn't. Lampard never got into the game, Gerrard looked awful on the left, Lennon and subsequently Wrong-Phillips seemed to do nothing but pass the ball inside to green shirts, Crouch got in on that as well after he came on. Carragher and Terry were more than unconvincing in defense.

The only player i'll even give some credit to is Barry who did some great tackling back, which he shouldn't have had to do half as much as he did.

Shocking.

Was fairly surprised with Algeria today, knocked the ball about well and weren't always looking to punt the ball upfield. Boudebouz and Ziani both looked very tricky, Belhadj is lightning quick, and Bougherra was solid, probably added an extra couple of hundred K onto his price tag.

England were poor. Very poor. Rooney didnt get into the game and when he was moved to the left he looked like he'd given up. Moving Gerrard (one of england's best against USA) out of position took away his effectiveness, Lampard might as well have not been there.

My opinion for the Slovenia game, Rooney, Heskey, Lampard and Carragher out, Crouch, Defoe, J Cole and Dawson in....

(or just leave things be if you want Fabio :P )

Well you can forgive us lot for getting slightly optimistic considering we have a group of players who play at the highest level; obviously when you support a team packed with Championship-at-best detritus who consider the Faroe Islands a crunch tie then you might go into games with a more realistic attitude.

Whilst we could have an in depth discussion about the different psychologies of England and scotland supporters, an examination of media approaches and national traits of optimism vs pessimism, none of it would alter the fact that the reason you haven't is because you follow a shit team that hasn't qualified. It's like a Burnley fan laughing at United for not winning the league.

Ive got a pint says we qualify

    • Judging by last night at Wembley, Luke Combs should be in the conversation of headliner. The UK is having a moment with country music so I don't think it would be particularly left field either.

    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
