He's daft for getting so wound up over a meaningless friendly, but he's probably the only one who gives a shit. That's why he was so wound up in the Japan game - no-one else looked bothered.

Take that passion away from him, and he's not the same player. I don't think he's a w**ker. Foolish, undoubtedly, but the guy cares. I wish others cared as much as he does.

Oh - I'd trust the BBC more, but this is from Skysports.com:

Apparently it wouldn't be a South African football experience without them. Bullshit. I bet it's all part of a South African conspiracy; the team have had special ear implants that cancel out the frequency of the horns, leaving all the other teams distracted.

THREE NIL!

THREE NIL!

THREE NIL!

THREE NIL!

On a slightly more serious matter, why in a match between North Korea and Nigeria were the latter put in charge of security? And why hold an unticketed football match five days before the World Cup begins? Make tickets free by all means, but just letting people go in through a floodgate was asking for trouble.

I saw the Lightning Seeds on Saturday.

I was singing "Rio's coming home, Rio's coming home, Rio's coming home..." :D

Ian Brody meanwhile was singing .... well, actually, he wasn't singing, out-of-tune squawking is about right. I don't think I've ever heard such well-known tunes done so badly before. Yes, even worse than Primal Scream at their worst. ;)

I've decided to take that squawking as an omen. England will perform as well as Brodie sings.:lol:

i know he's in the squad, and i know he'll be first pick, i meant was he playing yesterday when robinho scored (at least) twice.

and makes my world cup game on xbox a tad silly when both pato and ronaldinho are starters.

Just trying to find the United States' likely starting lineup for Saturday.

This is who started against Turkey:

Tim Howard

Carlos Bocanegra, Clarence Goodson, Jonathan Spector, Jay DeMerit

Landon Donovan, Ricardo Clark, Michael Bradley, Clint Dempsey

Benny Feilhaber, Jozy Altidore

Dunno how telling that is. Does Beasley not start for them anymore?

    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
    • Citizenship via investment programs basically work by saying if you invest this much in our economy (say buy a property worth x) then we will either grant you citizenship or residency with a route to it. The EU has rules on how low countries can set the bar. Montenegro was one of the easier ones to get and they've had to tighten it up.
