Was the ticket sale all just a well managed PR stunt?

It is only 09:20 but I get the impression just about everyone who wanted one has got one - hope I'm right ... if I am it begs the question was this all well managed PR hype? there was certainly a lot of hysteria created ...and I was part of/ contributed to it

This is the first time I have managed to buy tickets on a release day (october they sold out while my browser just farted in my face, both dates last year I lacked funds). I thought I was going to have to start hitting up my contact list again to get there.

Yup, it's been this way virtually every year since about 2004....they've sold ALL the tickets in less than 4 hours in previous years, this is fairly tame by comparison

Yea I was under no doubt that it would be a sell out but I was thinking of the alleged Oct 'sell out' and rumours of only a handful of thousand being available for today.

This was a joke!!! I bought my tickets in feb but I had to get some friends their`s today(idiots). I`ve been successful in previous years and have it sussed.......or so I thought.

I got up at 7 got on the booking page and waited. At dead on 9 I refreshed the page and I was in, clicked on buy tickets and on the next page it said it was sold out!!!......after 20 odd seconds!!!!!.......how can it be sold out. Total joke!!! The only people who will have got tickets are prob ones who are going by coach which is misleading. After you enter all the details of everybody and then pay it tells you can only buy 2 tickets at a time. Why give you the option of purchasing 8 tickets when you cant actually do it?

They go on about how the line ups delayed until after these so called tickets have sold. It`s ridiculous the majority off acts self confirm anyway so why all this cloak and dagger stuff..........publicity!

I apologise for mouthing off but I needed to get it off my chest.

it said sold out for me right at the start too. that's why you have to keep on refreshing. i got my tickets at 9.20

I failed in October, but got two tickets at 9.43am. Emotional rollercoaster much? I'm still in shock that I'm actually going. I was so scared that I wasn't.

Think the initial sold out messages at 9.00am, were that they opened the booking link at that time but hadn't activated the release of tickets.

At 8.59-9.01am it had it as sold out, got through 9.03ish (for my mate, I already had mine)

I got 7 festival only tickets just after 9. Went originally for the coach option but it stupidly wouldn't let you buy more than 2 travel tickets at a time. I thought they wanted people to go on the coach?????
