Newbie Question

Hello Everyone,

Rockness will be the first ever Festival I will have attened and just wanted to ask a few question about it, Sorry if these are pretty silly I dont really know what to expect

1) Clothes - whats the general thing most boys wear? T-shirt and jean? And what about if it starts raining?

2)Showers - if you are general camping do you just go without a shower? If so is there anything else you do to clean yourself up instead?

3) How much alcohol is permitted to be brung into the campsite?

4)Do they make a big thing of having an over 21 with you? If so is it easy enough to find someone up there?

5) What time should you arrive there on Friday?

1. Aye t-shirt and jeans does the trick. Poncho things can be bought there if it rains.

2. Baby wipes are as good as any other washing device, but there are showers Im sure.

4. Nah, shouldn't be a problem, i saw 15/16 year olds get in without a problem last year.

4 Pretty sure it's an 18+ event

Personally don't like jeans at a festival. Really annoying if damp. I tend to go for combats when wet and long shorts when dry.

T shirt, hoodie, and one of those thin rain jackets you can role up. Sorted.

And bring a lot of socks.

Nah, any ages, but under 18's have to be with someone over 21 i think. If not, the security weren't doing their job last year

I've been doing festivals every summer since I was 16, now 23, got in no bother in the early days so I wouldn't imagine much has changed

with regards for clothes its a general rule to pack for all weathers but my main rule is don not take decent gear, only take clothes you don't mind getting totally manky. This applies especially with trainers, I swapped mines for a pair of wellies in the Schuh tent last year.

Was just about to ask the same questions as you, I'm in the same position, first festival!

I'm 16, going with a few 18 year olds.. will I get in OK? Never really paid attention to the age thing, is it easy to find someone to go in with if not?

How much money roughly to take? I know theres cash machines there but I can't be bothered waiting!

i remember from the first year something about one crate per person into the campsite... but spirits (as long as there in plastic bottles was as much as u can carry i think (to keep litter left behind to a minimum i think)

I wouldn't take anything to valuable. Just keep your necessities with you incase.

yeah totally. avoid taking a phone with a big screen. mines got smashed during the flaming lips last year just by being in my pocket. was gutting.

Think I'll be buying a cheap £10 phone. What about putting a padlock on the tent, or is that more likely to attract thieves?!

I think a padlock just advertises your tent has things worth stealing, i mean you think thiefs are gonna be stopped by a padlock?
