Im going Leeds... and the same thing can be said about The Libertines.

If Pete decides to go on a bender... I wouldnt put it past him to play one... and forget the other one.

But hopefully he wont... so we all get a good share.

Leeds with GnR ending the weekend however=AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes I wonder how Axl managed to spend close to $15,000,000 on Chinese Democracy but now I realise it was just from all those 'facial reconstruction operations' he had that always seemed to go wrong. I also never knew you could make an ES-335 sound like a machine gun.

Thats exactly the impression i got from seeing them in 06

They do a good show (minus axl's temper tanrum mid set), played really well

But if someone asked if I'd seen Guns N' Roses, then I'd feel like I was lying if i said yes :/

Ah well, it'll still close the festival in style i suppose

Anyone wondering what time they'll start?

The 2002 appearence started at about 11:15 if memory serves, and ended with Leeds not being at Temple Newsham for one reason or another.

When I saw them in 2006 they'd been starting shows at about 10:30 at the earliest, so it could be interesting

    • When are  the stage splits ??
    • 13th Primavera (Thursday was definitely making me feel like this was the cursed year).  Blood Orange was such a party by the end of their set but we all knew that rain storm was approaching.  So gutted Massive Attack didn't play after the false hope of a new rescheduling, especially knowing that Elizabeth Fraser & Horace Andy were backstage with them!  Managed a bit of Melt Banana but was just so over the weather by that point.   Friday was awesome, Rilo Kiley were so much fun.  Never been the biggest Cure fan but made the effort for them after Thursday & Robert Smith sounds like he did back in the 80s.  PinkPantheress & Viagra Boys were also great.   The highlight for me was Sudan Archives on the Saturday, she was stunning & with the Olivia Rodrigo surprise set too it made up for the Thursday sh*t show.  Dijon & Knocked Loose also superb.   Shoutout to Cardiacs on the Tuesday too, they were so LOUD, played a storming set.
    • OK, never mind, I'll take normal Nine Inch Nails.
    • Probably my least favourite of the five editions I've been to, but still plenty good enough for me to go again. Weirdly, I was just totally running out of stamina a lot earlier into the night than I remember happening in the past. I feel like I missed a lot of the weirder sets on the smaller stages as I was just totally cooked. Not Primavera's fault, obviously. Maybe I'm just getting old - or maybe I need to pace my drinking better...   Anyway - is David Byrne a realistic get for next year? Certainly hoping so.
    • watching clips of the cure in Barcelona, wow 2 hours 25 minute set. That's gonna be tough on the Sunday but can't bloody wait for it
