i saw Kelis 10 years ago in the dance tent, she was alright. i didn't see N-Dubz 2 years ago when they played the dance lounge, but then nobody else seems to have either. it's no big deal.

Well that's a load of shit. They are fully self created, been working on the group since they were quite young with the help and financial backing from their family (the uncle used to be in the music business), sorted out their own early promotional work and then using internet sites (like Channel U) and local shows in London to grow their fan base. Manufactured they are not. They did it all themselves.
