Guardian thinks Libs are headlining

I'm still hoping for 'special guests' - with just 2 albums...do they even have enough material/songs to do a full 90min headline slot ? unless them and Arcade Fire are going to get say 75 or so mins each and do say a Pulp/Beck co-headline thing like back in 2000

Direct quote from official leeds board

"I have a few friends out side HMV in leeds right now and they just said that K! Radio have been around interviewing the crowd.

According to K! Radio there set to headline."

so there is now the sun, the guardian, mtv, punktastic, k! radio all suggesting there headlining there is no doubt they almost 100% to be playing but can all of theese be wrong about them headlining ? if they did i think arcade fire would headline the tent

Is it not possible that they're all reporting the story because one of them started it and that original (possibly wrong) bit of info is what all these sources are basing this on?

I maintain that what NME said - "Not only will we be unveiling the headliners, special guests... etc." referred to the headliners, and the special guests who are The Libertines.

Dont they always announce the special guest on the day the line-up is revealed ? .. I cant remember.

Im pretty sure Ian Brown was announced last year on ticket sale day though.

Therefore NME including the 'special guests' wouldnt be that significant would it?

    • Never too early to start discussing next year’s headliners right?   I’m not attending this year so thought I’d get the ball rolling as I saw Weezer have a new album out in August I’d expect them to do this or Slam Dunk next year. I mean they’re probably too big for this however I think they’re niche enough that they would maybe do it, it just depends on if the fee is a bit out of range for trees.    It’ll be the 20th anniversary next year so I’d expect some throwbacks and hopefully some big headliners/acts. James has already said he’s made a mad booking that you wouldn’t guess & I think he mentioned that he’s spent something like 80% of this years budget of next years top line already on last weeks 2 promoters 1 pod (Don’t quote me on that).    I reckon they’ll try for and get at least two (not all) of the following - Enter Shikari, AFI, Weezer, Sex Pistols Feat Frank Carter, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls
    • for some reason last night watched series one of Prey on Netflix.   if Legends was written by Timmy Mallet (see above) then Prey seems to have been made by Mr Blobby.   why are all these British crime dramas so sh*t?
    • It'll be all over various Seatfillers based upon previous years at Sandringham
    • The Jayhawks 2026 UK Tour    Sept 15 – Brighton – Corn Exchange  Sept 16 – London – Electric Ballroom Sept 17 – Manchester – Academy 2 Sept 18 – Glasgow – The Garage    For you ‘americana’ lovers. They have a great song book.
    • Weezer just announced a new album & US tour so could add them to the headliner pool. Imagine they’ll do this or trees
