<rant over>

i apologise, i didnt mean it to descend into a 'its not as good as it used to be' but the fact is, its not

Walking off to the London Underground at 11pm or Trash City/Shangri La/Stone Circle after the last band...as whoever said it on Page 3...

they have a very valid point!

Yes the G is a very different place from old, I myself really do not like a lot of it these days especially the commercial factor and it being full of V loving numpties heading off to the Queens Head and Playstation pods but you CAN avoid those places very easily...tell me where in Hyde Park you can escape from the over commercialness? Or buy an Oggie or a Growler or Tartiflette Originale or all the flavours of Brothers in draught form and a pint of Hot & Spicy and be surrounded by your good chums from these boards??? Or dance the night away at Arcadia or crawl into the Rabbit Hole?

Hmm...huh...eh..eh...EEEHHHHHH???

You are mad and you will regret the decision. :P

Stone circle isn't very old i'm afraid, and no it isn't a commercial fest like the rest. The saturation of other festivals with big money sponsorship has threatened Glasto for years, and sorry Tugger but it can't stay static. Change is inevitable and although I don't always agree with some new ideas, it's good to see that some things are restored (Leftfield).

But hey, if you don't enjoy it then don't go.

its just the motivation required though. give it my all this year, live it up, love for what it was, and what it is, and finish that chapter and write a new one!

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
