OMG! I tried so hard to pack light last year. Ended up with a (borrowed) rucksack that was so heavy I literally fell backwards once it was on my back :P . Luckily my (rather large) tent, and cool bag of booze balanced me out!!!

I also had a few lovely lads with me who were very kind and helped, a lot!

Won't have that luxury this year as there are just two of us!

Peace x

ive given up trying to go light, there are 3 of us going in a car and we quite happilly tent down when we get on the site and make a second trip back to the car. took seats, a table, 4 crates of cider an plenty of win, plus some food with us last year as well as a decent sized tent.

much prefer thge added comfort a second trip to the car gives you

im sure thing would change drastically if i went down on public transport though

Christ,

you're making a rod for your back with those clothes.

My clothes list will be something like this, including what I walk in there with...

2 trousers

1shorts

3 t shirts

1 hoody

5 socks

one pair of boots

5 pairs of boxers

one jacket

If long range weather forecast is gonna be baking hot and no chance of rain then probably change boots for trainers but if there is even a tiny chance then it'll be boots.

Other than that...

peeping slag

tent

3 packs of wipes

empty 2L bottles

48 cans (leave half in car on first day)

bottle of rum

toothbrush and paste

deodrant

sun cream (optimistily)

bin liners and plastic bags for rubbish and keeping stuff dry

bog roll.

pile cream (all that time on me feet is likely to bring em' down again and I'd rather they f**k off from whence they came pretty sharpish rather than have to walk round with my finger up my arse pushing them back in and going "aaaarrgghh" all the time)

paracetemol

in the very late 80's i decided to go at the very last minute after being given a ticket and was very under prepared.

I seem to remember taking

1. tent

2. clothes i was wearing to get ther

3. small rucksack with a couple of t-shirts adn some grundys

4. sleeping bag.

consequences

it rained like a b*stard and I had flu for several weeks after the event. for some reason i dont seem to remember being that cold actually during the fest :P

going light aint all it cracked up to be. unless you have a rather big bag of goodies

Can always pick up a plain T-shirt or an extra hoody for cheap while you're there. I wouldn't trust to find a good pair of socks there though, I am so particular about what socks I wear that I would waste my whole time looking for socks.

I take absolutely loads of stuff. I've done the travel light thing in my teens, prefer to do festivals in style these days, even if it is a bit more of a pain getting the stuff from the car.

We're going to have to travel light as we're getting a National Express coach overnight to Birmingham then a coach direct to the fest from there - and their allowances are "two medium sized suitcases" plus one piece of hand luggage.

Thinking my tent will be one, and can't get away with stuffing my rucksack, going to be a challenge!

Always gone by coach in the past, but this year it's the car, and I am still aiming to only take a rucksack. Might stretch to carrying a folding chair for the campsite, but maybe not.

Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, change of t-shirt & undies for each day, change of trousers (the sort which zip off into shorts if the weather permits), spare fleecy top, waterproofs, hat, torch, hand cleaner & wet wipes, several half-toilet rolls (saves carrying a full one around), suncream, basic toiletries, camera, and er...that's about it.

Can't believe the amount of stuff some people bring. And the amount they leave behind. :P

I managed it last year, well, sort of, because I flew down and had a baggage allowance to deal with.

I have a 65l rucksack, which I fit:

7 pairs of pants

9 pairs of socks, just in case, 5 walking socks, 4 thin socks

2 pairs of crop pants

2 pairs of leggings

4 dresses

3 tshirts

1 pair of shorts

2 hats

1 fleece top

1 hoodie

air bed

All chosen for the fact that they were light and thin, jeans and thick, heavy stuff is out.

In the pockets I squeezed in:

all my toiletries

inflatable pillow

crocs

waterproof poncho

Then I strapped my sleeping bag and tent to the outside.

Finally, I had a backpack (hand luggage) with my jacket and a few little extras in, which I used through the week to carry stuff with me, like a spare jumper and whatnot.

What I was thinking of doing this year was dropping my rucksack off in one of the lockups as soon as I get there, go and pitch my tent, then go back for the rucksack, make life easier for myself getting my shiz through the site.

not been before so a bit of a newbie question, is it far to walk from the car park to the camsite (i know it depends on where you camp), but what i'm trying to say is, is it worth making two journeys to and from the car? or is it not worth it?

thought i'd ask as it might influence how much i take
