Could Dave do a Rog?

A few years back we were treated to the wonder of Roger Waters in the sunday sunset slot

Now this is tenuous in the extreme, http://www.lastfm.com.br/event/1457051+Har...g+Festival+2010 , but if, and its a mighty big if, thats true, then the eavii should pull out all the stops for dave to play the same slot as Rog did.

NO Tugs.

YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME. I hate you.

Seriously.

F**k off with this - because we know it won't happen. YOU know my ultimate dream - the ONE act I would miss any other for at Glasto (yes, that includes Macca if he were to play again) - would be either Rog or Dave.

You know this. You're angry that I abandoned the striker partnership argument earlier, and I understand that. But rest assured that if you carry on with this foolhardy trolling, I won't be pleased.

I'm in pain. No - really - I just crossed my fingers and toes too hard, and dislocated several of them.

Begone, pestilence.

That's the whole problem mate - it honestly couldn't get any better.

And that's why it's stupid and reckless to get my hopes up.

I kind of hope he doesn't play Glastonbury this year.

As awesome as it would be, fact is, Eavis turned down his offer to play in 2008. The same year Richard Wright died, who David Gilmour later admitted had a great desire to play an open air festival like Glastonbury that year.

As it turned out, that never happened, because Eavis said the line up was "too full".

No disrespect to Eavis 'n all, and y'know, I'm sure Jay-Z was as life-changing and epic as all the sheep claim he was, but if he couldn't fit David Gilmour (yes, the very same David Gilmour from Pink Floyd) in that year, then in my opinion he doesn't deserve to have him on his festival's bill at all.

Just my opinion though, but I'm a bitter kinda guy. :P

The slim hope of Dave popping in on Sunday is going to now make me unable to focus on my work for the remainder of the day. (See what I get for jumping on here mid day...)

Wow, if it's true that Hyde Park line up is off the charts amazing...I've seen Dave and Rog both in the past...but to see either of them (or both...yeah, right like that will ever happen again...) at Glasto would pretty much be the best thing that I could have ever hoped for when I decided to go this year.

Please make this happen somehow...

Heheh, I did give a warning.

Apologies though, I'm just a huge fan of David Gilmour, I still think it's going to be incredibly strange seeing him play without Richard Wright.

It just annoys me to think of that huge opportunity for an incredible Glastonbury moment missed because of some guy with almost 100 problems (although he admits his wife/significant other isn't one :P )

Roger Waters was amazing whatever year it was he played. His use of surround sound round the pyramid arena was the best i've ever, ever seen. The jet planes had people actually ducking.

If Dave Gilmour were there I'd wet myself. Or Brian Eno for that matter.

Tugs - thanks to you, I listened to Pulse on my iPod on the train this morning. Git.

I still refuse to believe there is any chance of this happening.

    • While i whole heartedly agree with both these statements on a personal preference level -     ive come to reluctantly accept that bland is always popular and il normally just show myself to the other stages where the better times are to be had during the Pyramid headliner slots.
    • Sun's out today. Can feel the hills calling. Time to ramp up the energy levels. I've been easing my way in gently the last 2 weeks with the likes of Hayley and Lael Neale and Cut Worms and Maria Somerville etc. Time to unleash some Shame, Mogwai, Place to Bury Strangers and especially Wednesday and Mannequin Pussy.  Also, just back from a brilliant night in Belfast at the Fleadh Ceoil so anything with a fiddle or a whistle or a squeeze box is drawing me like the Sirens. Madra Salach with the volume up. COME ON!!
    • My Orange car park ticket turned up today. The envelope looked like some kind of junk mail offering me a loan so I nearly didn't open it!
