what are peoples opinions and experiences of these? in 02 03 04 05?? i was on pennards

then missed a few and returned last year, was on pennards and it was like the srt of mad max overrun by the cast of skins... perhaps im getting old!

im looking for a relatively more relaxed experience with perhaps a little more space?

Last year I camped in either Wicket Ground or Lime Kiln (I'm not sure which one it was). The reason for that was because it was close to the pedestrian gate and I couldn't face walking any further with my heavy gear! I quite liked it..there was a good mix of ages and it had its own cafe. I'll probably camp there again this year.

Hitchin was our home 2003 - 2007, then Park Home in 2008 and the one next to the Glade last year, the little one between Glade and Jazz.

The beauty of Hitchin is that it is a bit more peaceful, and a bit more out the way, you get a bit more room too, if you head up to the top of the hill, and a cracking view of the festival to wake up to every day, and minimal tent-trampling/bit flatter ground/less muddy up the top.

The downside is that evil b*starding hill up to it at the end of the night! Though that is good for muddy years, as you get a lot of the cack off your boots on the hike up it.

I'd say that if you're coming in to gate A, then Hitchin Hill is perfect for the less hectic nights, not too far to walk with all your kit either! If you're coming in gate D, then Park Home is a good choice, quite liked it there too in 2008, apart from the robberies.

    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.

    • I don't think I'm alone as a Scotland fan that there is no way that I could possibly fall asleep knowing we're about to play our first World Cup game in 28 years! Pure adrenaline is keeping me wide awake (and plenty of rum)!
    • Trying to stay awake for the footy so it’s just the easy option of a battery😊😉
