which is what has been covered by florence .....

which means that efestivals was wrong.

Not really.

Without the existence of the Knuckles tune, we wouldn't be having this convo. It was the Knuckles tune which created the opportunity for The Source to have their hit, not Staton's vocals.

you're a stubbon baw bag.

if you are gonna sit and say that is a cover of frankie knuckles original when it doesnt properly sample it then there is no point in continuing.

"created the opportunity for The Source to have their hit"

this is true.

i imagine the person who penned the lyrics will be getting royalties, and mr knuckles shant cause it is a completely different arrangement.

It's VERY DEFINITELY a cover or sample of the Knuckles track. I've heard The Source say so, many years ago.

Without the use of that tune, there was zilch for Staton to be put on top of, and we wouldn't be having this convo.

the source is a cover/sample of frankie knuckles.

and yes if it didnt exist then this version would prob not exist.

but this version is NOT a frankie knuckles cover.

I know.

But it's got to that version only because of it firstly being a frankie knuckles cover or sample.

I've got the Frankie Knuckles - Your Love on Vinyl from back when I was a teenager in the 80's.

It doesn't have the vocal but the Candi Statton tune that we all know would never have become as massive as it was until the vocals were put over that particular tune.

    • Remain self-imposed on not going north of a hundred, but... we're getting to the point now where the starting gun will be above that for some acts.
    • I'm finding the lower line up a little impenetrable this year   Any thoughts on heavier bands a la Slift a few years ago?
