Best Glasto memory that makes you smile..?

being down the front when elbow played in 2008, weather was great, other field was packed and what felt like the whole crowd singing along to on a day like this at the end. they seemed genuinely overcome by the crowd reaction. When they went off stage there were still loads of people singing trying to coax them back out.

2009 was my first year and had only done small festivals before hand, so walking in and my jaw just hitting the ground at how huge and amazing the place was.

Also, every time I hear The Universal by Blur I can't help but think when Damon Albarn just went "GLASTONBURRRRYYYY!" before the big ending of the set and it makes me smile every time. Good times

Last year, Bloc party playing Waiting For The 7.18 and everything just hitting me and the biggest smile on my face appearing, was immense. Oh and also my first glasto obviously, just looking round the campsite with a sea of people in the sunshine

2009:

The whole crowd singing back the lyrics of Tender for Blur way after they'd finished the song. Awesome, makes me tingle even now!

My friend, completely spangled, walking along one of the paths. We get to a really crowded bit and he's slightly behind us, we all stop to wait for him and witness him be bounced and shoved about by the passing crowd. He ends up doing a complete 180 turn without realising and carries on walking straight on like nothing has happened.....straight on in the direction we'd just come from

We went and retrieved him once we'd stopped laughing so hard.

Oh my god, YES!! I did the coach from the pick up in '08 and had exactly the same feeling. I was on my own, and everyone was really miserable, just talking amongst themselves. I wanted to jump up and scream, but would have looked and felt like an arse!!

Wow, I'd forgotten about that - lovely, seeing all the tents and 'stuff', amazing.

I WANT IT NOW!!!!!

Same here! I couldn't understand why everyone else on the coach was so cool about catching a glimpse of Galsto!? Perhaps they had been many times before but for me, i think that sight would make me feel the same way time and time again...

I grabbed a car lift last year but its back to the coach for me this year so bring on that first glimpse.

Butterflies, panic (is there any camping space left? - of course there is but your mind plays those tricks), will all my stuff fall from my back, arms, all available fingers on the trek? The thing is, it all works out just perfectly. Cannot wait.

Agree with the people talking about the first glimpses of the site. I've been 7 times and I still get a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat when I see the fence glistening up ahead.

My coach made it in at about 10/11am!

So the new rule is that if you are on a coach, you all have to start smiling from ear to ear once the Glasto site comes into view - no excuses...

Arcade Fire 07. Was on the friday weather was shit but I remember they were on and i turned away from the other stage and the sun was setting behind us. Beautiful sunset.

Can't wait to get back.

2003 first time at Glastonbury...on the dodgems high as a kite (a really high one)...reversing around in circles whilst my passenger friend was holding a bottle of poppers against my nose...i have never laughed so hard. Also had my first experience with balloons, think I may have scared the children oops

2004 at the england game at the pyramid after me and a mate having a special 'billy whizz buffet' in the car. We didn't see the game cos we were that busy accosting randomers to talk crap to. Funny times. We got back to the tents at 11am after collecting a posse of lost people through the night. I felt like the pied piper. Came home covered in shit, with my teeth chattering cos I had run out of gum, and I still couldn't sleep. Would love to meet up with those randomers again.

2007 getting out alive from glastonbury refugee camp, McDonalds has never been so good.

2009 one of the guys trying on all the horses heads etc whilst playing to the crowd in the fancy dress shop in Shangri La, priceless.

2009 Neil Youngs Keep on Rockin' The Free World- the false endings kept on coming, the chorus kept being sang louder and louder by the crowd, and my smile was getting bigger and bigger each time!

A boy watching Brian Wilson. I didn't fancy him but he looked hot. The sun was shining right on him and he had sunglasses on and was singing every word and dancing along. He was the happiest person I saw that day. He made me smile and still does now when I think of him.

when The Orb finished playing the NME stage on the saturday night in '93, the PA was issuing the lowest bass frequencies ever known to man and it was still 'raining' from their little fluffy clouds.. blissed out and trying to maintain control of my intestines all at once while the fireworks emerged from below the man-made cloud.. only ever in Sir Michael's fields

after taking evasive action in '94 thinking that someone was shooting at me (and landing on some poor bloke in the process) i made some great new friends who gave me their 'most stoned person at Glastonbury' award

and taking my fiancee for the first time in 2008.. radio 2 listeners you had to be there

Always makes me smile. And a noteable mention goes to the other stage crowd after elbow finished their set in 2008 singing and singing for what seemed like forever after One Day Like This.
