What did you guys think to the first single off this album?

Thats it if you havent heard it. Its featuring Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother.

I wasnt bothered at first but the song has grown on me quite a bit.

yeah the paradise city is only a bonus track and due to legal reasons its being wiped off the UK classic rock pre-sale version

so it might get dropped all together, it was awful.

Heard the track with Andrew Stockdale this morning. Wasn't impressed - musically wasn't very exciting, and Stockdale's vocals just grate on my ears. Guess its going to be pick and mix with this album.

I can't see jack shit on twitter

EDIT - reading it, its two apparent direct messages to two different people, although the first pic is titled LOLZH when you save it, so im more than a little unconvinced.

I hope it's true, but I don't believe it yet

yeah we went over this in the 'next announcement' thread.

There seems to be a few twitter hoaxes around.

Im really digging that starlight tune, maybe just me though

bottom line is slash would have to actually follow that guy to send him a direct message. Thats how twitter works.

And i really dont think he would.

Seems like quite a bluesy album, dont think it'll be to everyones taste really and a whole bunch of people will be disapointed. I think its pretty good though. Quite surprised by the Fergie song, her voiced worked better than i thought it would.

It might be good, but these guests wont be at Download so who will be singing? Himself for all of it?

Had a quick listen, With all these guests the first half of the album doesn't even sound like him!

2nd half of the album however is alot better.

    • I think it happened a week ago. Btw, Ela Minus looks like a great addition for the opening free day now. Anyone been to this venue? Is there like a closed place or they just put an open air stage somewhere in the park?
    • I see the weekend tickets have sold out. When did that happen? I recall seeing that Friday day tickets had all gone but was surprised to see today that weekend ones had too.
    • I thought some time back that I could see Get Down Services getting a slot in Woodsies
    • Tickets on sale when I'm abroad (I'm assuming this sells out in minutes), and the actual dates could not be worse for me work-wise. Still going to try to get tickets, of course, but god damn!
    • I'm personally confident that Slipknot will be one of the headliners next year (no insider info just lines up with them likely releasing an album soon)    Then there's the headliner that's never played the festival before which the bookers have alluded to so that's one of Blink, Foos, NIN, Nickelback and possibly Pearl Jam or even Bon Jovi    The third band I also think will be a new headliner who are being bumped up so Deftones, Offspring, Paramore Etc.    I'd love Slipknot, Foos and Paramore but realistically i'd go with Slipknot, Blink and Deftones
