Are there many druggies at Glastonbury?

Not a wrong crowd but certainly a different crowd, as has been sais alcohol is most deffinately a drug so in that sense I would agree that 90% of the glasto crowd are druggies but as for other stuff dont agree, for me the only real problem is people who dont usualy particularly indulge then think that because they are at a (the) festival they have to take as many drugs of dubious providence as possible and suddenly become indistructable and the prime minister of the world. Beleive it or not I am not interested in every detail of every thing you have ever done you drugged up f**kwit and the fact that I am not interested does not mean that you have a right to moan at me.

OK, maybe I've just got it. This is what Trolling is for.

This is an education for me.

Got too worked up by a tosser who was trying to get people worked up.

As I said be fore I am very very old (43) and an inocent to these internet tings(that is deliberate, it's my accent). When I see you all get me a drink and we will take the piss out of my spelling, cant wait till june!

Well it's good to see there are 1 or 2 sensible adults at Glastonbury, but I'm a little shocked with some of the other replies I've had. I suppose there must be a lot of silly little children on here too.

My grand daughter is coming to our house on sunday - after church - and I'll sit down and have a chat with her then. She a sensible lass - doesn't drink - or any of that nonsense sniffing drugs. Don't get me wrong - I like a few pints of best, and a wee dram every now and then, but it makes my blood boil to hear of innocent young kids getting caught up in the wrong crowd and having their lives ruined by druggies.

I've not been too impressed with some of the folk on here and I just want to ask - do you talk to your parents and teachers the way you talk on here? I sincerely hope not.

I respect the younger generation - full of energy and creativity, but some of you also need to look at yourselves in the mirror.

Thank you to the others for taking the time out to give me a sensible answer.

hehehe, did anybody really take this seriously? c'mon, it's a wind up.

wasn't there one alst year about bringing stuff for self defence, tasers/knives and that as he wasn't allowed to bring his alsation to guard the tent or something, can't remember the exact details, but along those lines

      What is too old for Leeds Fest now ?  I'm going to the Fontaines Saturday in a few weeks at 54 !!!  I may be the oldest there 🙂    Wythenshawe may be an option for WA.

      Pretty much all festivals lose out on major artists because of production limitations though. Glastonbury is no different to most other festivals.  Lots of acts can/will adapt their tour production to suit festival stages if they want to play them, but some acts with stage designs and routines just don't want to adapt, and would rather just stick with a rigid, well-rehearsed production and take the money for their own gigs, whether that's a lot more than playing Glastonbury, or slightly less than playing some other festivals (but with added complications). Trying to adapt the stage, layout, access to b-stages etc to accommodate a single headliner on a Friday and then having to change it all around for a Saturday headliner isn't really a goer when most headliners can just easily adapt their show to stay on a main stage, if they're so inclined. They have a year to figure out how to perform a song on a main stage and ditch a few dance routines out on a b-stage if they really put their mind to it. It's not that difficult......

      I would be all over Wolf Alice but may have outgrown this venue.    Also have to consider the schedule they have been on this year so may be on a break.  This last 10 days alone they did Tramlines, New York, Chicago and Kendal Calling.  Although make hay while the sun shines may come into play.
