Are there many druggies at Glastonbury?

My grand daughter - 19 years of age - wants to go to the Glastonbury music festival. My concern is that there are a lot of druggies in attendance. Am I right, am I wrong?

Now - I used to be into the music scene once upon a time - but NO DRUGS!!

Please can you let me know the likelihood that my daughter will encounter druggies at Glastonbury.

Your daughter will encounter as many druggies at Glastonbury as she would on any night out.

Unless you keep her locked up, any normal night out doesn't bring her any harm, so you've no reason to fear for her safety at a festival either.

Can I suggest that you give up reading the Daily Mail?

You can't move for skaghead and scumbags.

It's like a localised dystopia - a view of humanity in its worst possible condition. A bit like Liverpool on a Saturday night.

I'd be surprised if she isn't on the game by the end of it - to pay for all that juicy skag.

Don't make the same mistakes as us - the skag keeps us going back. We are lost but as a warning for generations after us so they do not fall into the same chasm of damnation as ourselves SAVE HER while you still can.

P.S Got any skag?

I'm sure that a lot of people will reply, honestly, by saying that there will be a lot of people taking drugs at glasto but the the vast majority of them will be lovely people with or without drugs.

I don't take drugs, tried 'em, don't like 'em. I am also a 15stone 5'8" boxing trainer, I do not intimidate easily but every time I have been to glastonbury I have been made to feel uncomfortable because of folks who get out of thier mind on drink or drugs. The problem is that they are completely unpredictable, last year a young lass was near us for the Specials completely out of it and I think it was drugs not drink ( no way to know for certain but in my experience I would say drugs, could be wrong) and she was swaying , shouting and totaly out of touch and sync with what was going on around her, she was having a great time but those around her were not, no need for details but she was, shall we say unpleasant and out of control.

I am quite big enough and ugly enough to handle it but why should I have to?

Having said (ranted) that Glastonbury is very big ang if she;

Stays (vagely) sober sensible herself

Is aware of when a problem may be brewing

She is probably safer there than in most city centres on a Saturday night.

      I think the age of tickets flying out day one for a lot of artists is drawing to a close now, especially with the prices.   There will be exceptions of course, I was surprised how quickly Phoebe Bridgers sold out

      Tbf they sold out the mainland European shows that follow this UK tour more or less immediately so I guess much of Europe will be stadiums for them next summer regardless and they might want to bring any stadium bespoke production here, even if it's just one night at a London stadium or whatever.    I like the new album and wanted to see them again but £150 for a standing ticket is ridiculous and all the sub-£100 price categories sold out. So you know, would like to go but guess I'm waiting for any last minute dropouts. Tbf I would hazard a guess of these 4 UK shows in November that more tickets are sold than unsold and by the time of the show it'll be, if not a full house, close enough.

      I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility    It would feel like a bit of waste for their first set in the UK for 12 years be an hour and 10 mins as a sub    A lot of people will buy day tickets just for FNM
