Ticket dilemmas - has anyone gone in on someone else's ticket?

I have a mate (male) not now taking up his option to buy. I have another mate (female) desperate to go. Should she risk paying for his and going in on his ticket iyo?

I know its obviously a large risk and ethically not really right, but there is no profit being made etc etc. The other thing is if she goes with a couple of £20 notes and aims for a youngish steward then fires him/her a couple if they kick up a fuss, shirley they'll let her in?

Any experience/thoughts would be appreciated.

Firstly there are still tickets available in a resale, that would be your best option

Secondly, there have been plenty of stories of people getting on other peoples tickets when they are the same sex, but different sex is very very risky

Thirdly, I dont think bribes work anymore, and you are taking a huge risk at great expense to travel there, that someone will let you in, most of the stewards are young btw.

I was in a similar situation last year, a friend of mine pulled out due to personal reasons at the last minute and I was left with a fully paid ticket.

I thought about offering it to another friend of mine for free and giving him the option to come down at his own expense and try and find his own way in.

I did a bit of investigation and found that some people on these boards had done it in the previous years but had not been easy, sometimes they had to try several different gates before getting in. I decided better of it as the hassle for the person who had the ticket would be too much.

When I turned up at the Festival last year I thought I would just observe how much attention is paid to the photo on my ticket (which was entirely valid).

Firstly I spotted a couple of security escorting a guy off site for looking nothing like his photo, much to his protests on the contrary.

When my ticket was being checked by the gate stewards, the guy who was putting my wrist band on was attempting to draw me into a conversation about something inane. I thought to myself then, “I wonder whether he’s doing this to gauge whether or not I really look like my photo?” either that or he was just be friendly and I was being overly suspicious.

When I finally got in I decided that anyone who didn’t have a valid ticket wouldn’t stand a great chance of entry, and I would imagine this is something they are increasingly tight about (for obvious reasons).

I've had mates the past 2 times who have gone in on other peoples tickets. Don't think I'd risk it if it wasn't the same sex though.

It happened once, but they got caught out when asked for tickets on the monorail, got escorted right out of the arena. Not worth the risk.

I got to say I was quite shocked how thorough the gate keepers were checking tickets. Was quite glad that I had a valid one. Wouldn't risk it myself even though I only live an hour away from Pilton.

Everytime i've been in I've had sunglasses and sometimes a hat on, they've never asked me to take them off or had a proper look at me or the photo on my ticket. I wouldn't risk it with a different sex though...just try in the resale

dont take this as gospel but some friends of friends had a block of tickets booked last year and several people back out.

I am relatively sure that they contacted see and changed the names for 2 otehr people who were already registered.

This aint third hand as such but it cam eup in convo with them at the festival itself

Pay the balance and also go for a proper ticket in the resale. If you are successful in the resale cancel the other ticket. You will have to fork out the whole ticket money twice, but in the end it will only cost the same tenner that is going to be retained even if your mates ticket balance is not paid.
