That needed someone close to the band to die first. The time before that I think saw someone get married. The time before that was Live Aid.

I've been waiting for this for so long that it's easier to convince myself it's not happening.

But how long does it take to prepare for a show/tour? JPJ is with Crooked Vultures touring til at least March. 3 months sounds like enough time to rehearse etc., but these things always take longer than expected.

Whatever happens, it's on a knife edge. There's just as many reasons for LZ to play as there are for them not to play. At least we can be hopeful though. These rumours are usually quashed as soon as they pop up so being hopeful for so long is a good sign in itslef.

Sorry to try an derail your is it metal thread but following my last post:

http://entertainment.stv.tv/music/145302-j...s-tour-promise/

Jimmy Page has now said, "We're running up to Christmas now and next year I have every intention of playing music live and manifesting it. I've got the music waiting, and that's what I'll be doing. It's been two years since The 02 show, so it's time to do that."

I asked Michael Eavis two year's ago if he would book Led Zeppelin - his response was a wry grin and "I've asked, but they're too expensive" He added something about "It would be nice though, wouldn't it"

and Emily Eavis told the Mirror her wish list for Glastonbury included Led Zeppelin

Emily "It would be really good to have an appearance by Led Zeppelin too, that's one band who haven't played here."

"That would be quite a one-off. But I don't know whether or not it's going to happen...We're weighing up all the options at the moment and we should have more of an idea by Christmas."

if anyone can read something cryptic about him playing with Zeppelin there... well.. good luck to you

the way I read it, is that he'll be doing something that he's already working on, that isn't anything to do with Zeppelin...

but I do get things wrong

But they weren't just those things were they? I'm not going to get onto my favourite artist - Dylan - here, but anyone who calls him a folk singer is well wide of the mark, and clearly doesn't know the man's music. Same would apply to anyone calling Zep metal.

And I think that just about wraps that up.

What you are implying is that artists or bands can't ever be labeled or pigeon-holed. That may be your opinion. Lee Evans isn't a comedian because he's done some straight roles as well? OK......

To say that Dylan wasn't a folk singer is just plain lunacy. He went electric, does that mean that he never was one of the most famous folk singers on the planet?

I didn't say he wasn't a folk singer. However to call him a folk singer is also lunacy. He's recorded what 35 studio albums, of which five - possibly five and half - are really folk albums. And they aren't his best albums either, in my opinion.
